Southampton FC - Official Thread.

Southampton Football Club is an English football team, nicknamed The Saints, based in the city of Southampton, Hampshire. The club were relegated from the Championship in 2009, and currently play in League One. Their home ground is the St Mary's Stadium, where the club moved to in 2001 from The Dell. Southampton usually play in red and white stripes, but to celebrate their 125th anniversary the club has reverted to its original red sash design.
The club has won the FA Cup once, and their highest-ever league finish was second in the top flight in 1983–84.[1]
On 8 July 2009 the club was purchased by German-born Swiss businessman Markus Liebherr. On 12 September 2010, Nigel Adkins was appointed the new manager on a three year deal.

He's been starting every game, but can't score from open play to save his life.

He's obviously completely out of shape, drop him I say.

I think you should give him time, he scored 36 goals last season after all, hes a proven goal scorer in that league just isn't having a good run of form. Same as Torres was for a while, just gotta keep at it, if you drop him your droping a top goalscorer and then he definitely won't be able to score from the bench.

He doesn't look interested at all. Barnard gives ten times what he does, and gets a result too.

We dn't even need him, as long as Lallana's playing.

Fair enough, if hes not giving the effort then its understandable.

We don't pay him £9k a week to go missing, that's what frustrates me.

Adam Lallana has been named ESPN PFA Fans' Player of the Month for November.

The Saints star is in fine form this season, and is currently the club's top goal scorer with six to his name so far this term, including one last time out in the FA Cup second round win over Cheltenham Town at St. Mary's.

Adam received many votes from Saints fans, who will now get to see him presented with the award at a forthcoming home game.

Meanwhile, José Fonte is up for the npower League One Player of the Month award voted for by a panel of Football League experts, and he'll find out if he wins that award next week.
