And he was only going to happen if we had gotten rid of Suarez one year early.Keyser Söze wrote:Costa is the only decent one you missed out on.

Willian would have been a huge asset in our team.

What does this mean?Scott_LFC wrote:Firmino to Liverpool stories really picking up the pace. Hopefully we can pull it off. We haven't made a genuinely exciting signing like that for a good while now.
Still haunted by the Costa, Willian, Mkhitaryan and Konoplyanka transfer sagas, so it's hard to get my hopes up completely.
I swear once one paper makes up a rumour or 'reports' it every other paper just publishes it over the next week?

Now on the BBC and Sky that we've agreed a deal.

He was absolutely shocking for Brazil against Colombia.

Most overrated, overpriced nationality in world football.

I think it'd be a pretty close run thing when you consider people like Luiz, Robinho, Afonso Alves, Hulk and Anderson. We're probably just more aware of the English ones because we follow English football.

£22 million, rising to £29 million.

Re: Summer Transfers 2015
You need to make the CL in the next 2 seasons and he needs to play 100 games. If neither of those two things happen then it'll be worse than him cost £1million less than Sanchez

Re: Summer Transfers 2015
A case could be made for either. It's certainly affected by the fact that English clubs have more money, plus I don't know what Brazilian homegrown quotas are like.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Glen Miller wrote:

Well that's the thing, English players are hugely overpriced domestically, but you can only sell within that market. Brazilians go for a massive premium worldwide.

Re: Summer Transfers 2015
£29m for Frimino is fine. He was one of the best players in Germany last year.

Re: Summer Transfers 2015
We spent £35 million on Carroll. Don't think I mind £29 million on Firmino

Did you watch much Hoffenheim then?

Why not? Money you piss up the wall on overpriced players is money you can't spend on high value players, which are what you need unless you have a huge financial advantage.

Re: Summer Transfers 2015
You did say "in world football" so that's probably fair. From our perspective we went for the second most expensive nationality, so it's a step in the right direction. Goodness only knows where we'll go from here.ResurrectionRooney wrote:Well that's the thing, English players are hugely overpriced domestically, but you can only sell within that market. France Football are linking Koscielny to Real Madrid, think I'll self harm if that happens.

Was about to laugh at the price, but £22m isn't that bad. Still too much imo.

Hopefully it is as a replacement for Ramos.
