Not even the Spurs fans could resist giving Sterling +1 respect for his dribbling skills.

That was after Balotelli's miss. What a stupid cunt. Hate when people attribute video clips to something that was actually a reaction of something else.

Looks like Borini is staying. Knew we wouldn't get rid of him. Wanted 90k from QPR apparently.

I can't believe how many bids over 10m have come in for him this summer.  Probably won't get anywhere near that in the future.

Imagine if Borini goes on loan and they both do well against our rivals.  The "Agents Oussama and Fabio" jokes will be great. Smile

Borini is better than Lambert. We should never have signed Lambert. I would have been happy with a trio of Balotelli, Sturridge and Borini.

Lambert will get games ahead of Borini Rolling Eyes

I'm not a huge fan of Lambert or anything, but he is a physical threat with decent technique.  He offers something different from our current top 2 and has looked capable of affecting games off of the bench so far. He's not an Andrew Carroll figure who we have to adopt the Fellaini tactic with, he opened up a lot of space for Sturridge in his two cameos, holding the ball up well and bringing others into play.  He was also cheap and more than happy to play second fiddle.

Borini has a great attitude, but his goalscoring record for us was pitiful and, penalties aside, it wasn't great at Sunderland either.  I don't know what he would offer from the bench besides running around.

I hear it's a done deal if he can prove his fitness. I'd rather him than Mignolet tbh

Lallana finally very close to being fit to play. Should be ready for our next game, against Aston Villa at Anfield.

I think when fit, he'll be replacing Allen in the midfield, and start with Henderson. They've both got similar work-rates and Lallana presses just as tenaciously as Henderson does. (Albeit unable to do so for the entire 90 minutes, it seems).

    Balotelli - Sturridge
    Sterling
    Lallana - Henderson
    Gerrard
    Moreno - Sakho - Lovren - Manquillo
    Mignolet

Good bench options: Coutinho, Markovic, Can, Allen, Lambert/Borini, Skrtel, Enrique etc.

Also thought Can was brilliant when he came on against Spurs. The way he held off Dembele in the run through the middle of the pitch, to set Sterling up on his Messi-esque dribble was great.

Coutinho really lost out from the Mario transfer. It's unfortunate that we are going to see so much less of him this season. There just isn't any room.

I'm sure there'll be times where he'll be ahead of Sterling/Lallana. We're just not used to having this depth, lol.

FCB tried its hardest to keep Víctor Valdés but he was desperate to leave for new challenge. Anfield beckons now. Perfect match player/club

If Sturridge is out for 6 weeks then Balotelli should have no excuse for not banging them during that period.

Football is a funny thing sometimes.  I find it quite funny how we get so emotionally involved in something we have no control over.

Good luck to Arsenal and their season, I am cheering for you as my second team.
