Imo opinion, the quality of Scottish areas is taken to the extreme-the ugly areas are hideous, the nice areas are beautiful.

He was one of my favorite actors and was a main character in my favorite movie of all time, Good Will Hunting.

Wow, when I read this I assumed it was another "flubber" or anyone other than Robin Williams.Keyser Söze wrote:The guy from flubber killed himself.

Re: Chat Thread
I was trying to remember what was the name of the one where he's a doctor and he wore a red nose with the dying kids, and then I remembered "Patch Adams."
I don't was Robin Williams still relevant? I know he was huge in the 80's and I remember a lot of his 90's stuff, but I hadn't seen a film with him in it for ages. Although, to be fair I don't really watch many films not found on Netflix instant watch.

I haven't seen many of his post 90s movies. The only ones were Death to Smoochy, One Hour Photo, RV, World's Greatest Dad, and Old Dogs (I forgot to add that one to the list of movies in my last post).

Re: Chat Thread
I looked it up and apparently he had his own sitcom on CBS called the Crazy Ones that was recently cancelled. I never heard of it.
Robin Williams always struck me as an actor/comedian from another era, like Bill Cosby. Like they don't fit in, in the post South Park world.

He was a good actor and I liked most of his films, especially Awakenings (surprised no one mentioned seeing it). But I'm not going to feel sorry for a perfectly physically healthy 63 year old man that had a healthy wife and kids, had been doing the job he loves for the entirety of his adult life, amassed countless millions because of it, lived an extremely comfortable material life because of his wealth, was afford all the luxurious and opportunities life has to offer and gained the highest possible global recognition for his work, just because he had a few bad weeks and decided to kill himself.

I suppose you're not fucking around. Bipolar disorder doesn't fuck around either. Much more than a few weeks down in the dumps.

I know I'm late to the party, but Scotland is nice, to be fair. Have family up there and used to visit every Spring, driving by the mountainsides was a great experience.

Re: Chat Thread
The gif Scott poster sums it up pretty well. I'm not trying to make light of mental illnesses like depression to extent where I say it's imaginary, of course people who have depression should seek help. What I'm saying is I don't believe an illness such as depression is the solitary or even a significant factor in committing suicide. OK, maybe in some cases I could understand, not agree but understand someone committing suicide because of it. But not in the case of this guy, he had so much to live for, so much to be grateful for. He clearly has the cognitive ability to be an excellent actor, he's not insane, so he has no reason to kill himself unless he knowingly wanted to do it.

I've barely tried looking into the disease, or how bad it was for him, so I can't really say for one or the other whether he couldn't have managed a better fight. It's a damn shame either way.

Re: Chat Thread
63 feels like such a weird age to commit suicide, I guess 'cause when you hear about suicide you usually hear about how it's really young people offing themselves.
