I thought I'd give an update on my youngsters. Most of my money in the past two seasons were spent on youth signings and they are developing very well.

Zauzan Kharisma Mardianto. Signed from RKC for £450k. Ready made replacement for Clyne in a year or two.


Florian Hein. Signed from Hertha BSC for £2m. Perfect anchor man.


Carlos Garcia. Signed from Celta Vigo for £4m. Mata/Silva esque.


Patrice Poncet. Signed from USCBO for £775k. Future French national team captain.

Nice work, Mason. I can't stand the colour you are using for the attributes though.

I am 7th in February with Swansea in my second season. Was pushing for the top 4-5 but I had 3 midfielders injured and my strikers decided to stop scoring.

Which colour would be better? 

My friend, how has Ben Davies developed?

I'm just used to the default colour, I can just tell how good a player is quicker I think. If you get used to any colour it's probably fine.

Davies is better than Neil Taylor now, is my starting LB. He's 3.5* with the potential to be 4*.

I'm basically running the game on a potato, it loads really slowly as it is. Wouldn't badges make the game even slower?

Are you playing on classic mode?

Nope, it's close to unplayable at Classic mode speed. Takes me like 10 minutes to get into the game at all.

Anyone got players who score against them every single time?

Van Wolfswinkel (Norwich) and Rhodes (Stoke) for me. I'm pretty sure Van Wolfswinkel has scored in literally every match against me.

Peter Crouch has been a nightmare for me to play against. My defenders are seem to be terrible aerially (although their attributes mean they shouldn't be) and he is obviously a good height to take advantage of that.

Finished 6th in my second season, 5 points off 4th place. Signed Benteke, Paul Papp and Begovic going into the new season, along with a few cheaper players. I hope they will make up those 5 points. I drew a few games I should have won and my performances against big teams was generally pretty poor, that's where the improvement needs to be.

I don't know if this is true for fm2014 (I'm still playing 13) but does anyone else feel like you have to keep changing your tactics every 6 months?

Sometimes I go on a great run with one tactic, then it just inexplicably turns to shit. Then I create a new, different, one and it starts running really well again. I don't think I'm even good at creating tactics, it just seems like any new tactic works better than my old one, even if the old one was good.

I found stuff like that used to happen on FM14, so I would make a minor change like turning an Advanced Playmaker on Support to Attack (or vice versa)

But with my Rennes tactic, I don't need to change anything. Because I completely dominate possession so a change isn't really needed

I've already played PSG twice as well!

My only 'loss' this season was on penalties to Lyon in a cup game.

So far so good for my season. 3rd in the league, still in every competition. Benteke has 13 goals in 14 games. The Forest result was when I changed my tactics, since then the only really disappointing result was Spurs away. 

Also, my chairman gave me an extra £7.5m to spend so I have £11m now for January. Any recommendations for a good anchor man (on fm13 of course)? Leon Britton has been a good player for me, but I would like someone who can do the passing he can but can also offer more defensively, especially in the air.

Diego Reyes if you can afford him, Yacob is decent too but Jorge Enriquez is the best IMO.

I was thinking of trying to upload a tactic, because I see so many people try possession tactics and none of the ones that I have seen get the same amount of chances created as I seem to get
