Froch Kessler was a decent fight, even though I wasn't really rooting for either.

Re: Chat Thread
I dislike most British boxers, they take entirely too long to fight outside of the UK, and when they do someone trounces them. Someone like Gavin Reese has no business getting into a ring in the US for the first time at 33 years old against a 23 year old world champ. Promoters in Britain protect their boxers too much, handing them paper titles and padding their records with bums. They're doing the British boxing talent a great disservice, when these fighters finally leave Europe for the big fights in the US they aren't prepared for them.
What's worst is that guys like Frank West actually take pride in keeping their fighters from testing themselves abroad.

I saw Cain Velasquez beat Bigfoot Silva tonight and I have to ask myself how does the UFC stay afloat? I don't know how anybody is willing to pay $60 for an 80 second fight. (or pay hundreds of dollars for tickets for that matter) Even with the added undercards.
I payed $60 to watch the Pacman knock Ricky Hatton's block off in two rounds and felt absolutely robbed.

Was going to watch that, but 80 seconds doesn't seem tasty. And the last UFC main-event I watched also went the same distance.

I'm going into hiding for a few weeks. Going to avoid everything football related. (This place doesn't count because no one talks about Mexican football but me and we hardly talk about football anyways.)
Club America did the improbable today. In the Mexican League final they defeated Cruz Azul in penalties. America were down 2-0 in Aggregate with a man down for 80 minutes, when they scored in the 88th or so, then they scored the equalizer from their goalkeeper's header bouncing off a Cruz Azul defender after the 90th minute mark. This took them to extra time and then penalties where they converted each of their penalties and Cruz Azul missed two. They are now tied with Chivas as the team with the most championships won in the Mexican first division with 12.
If happened to any other club it'd be a Cinderella story. But it happened to the sporting equivalent of North Korea.

Sorry mf, I can't. I only use my PS3 for FIFA and as a Blu-Ray player. If I get an XBOX then I lose 50% of what I use my console for.

Why did he do that? I could have sworn that he said that he had an XBOX before and didn't like it as much as the PS3.

Sorry, but the large sum of money I spent on my Blu-Ray collection is worth a lot more than your banter-filled FIFA sessions.

It is not my fault that you paid inflated prices for Blu-Ray movies. It's not as if they offer anything different from a normal DVD, after all.Ra's al Ghul wrote:Moriarty wrote:He got one on the cheap, I believe.

I mean, I got Quantum of Solace, POTC: Dead Man's Chest, We Bought a Zoo, and Harry Potter 7 Part 2 on DVD today for 8 dollars total plus shipping. Had I bought Blue-Ray discs, they would each have cost at least 15 dollars. It would appear that you need some financial advice, my friend.

How much are shipping costs anyway? I think I've gotten a few deals for my Blu-Rays that could rival that.

What's there to argue about? Anyone can see that Blu-Rays offer significantly better video and audio quality. Just do a quick Google Image search and you'll see the difference.
Anyway, I believe that the total sum of money you paid for those three DVDs would be about 14 dollars, no? I've honestly paid similar amounts for deals involving three Blu-Rays too. If you look hard enough you can get them on the cheap. I've also paid large amounts for others but, due to the supreme quality that they offer, I don't regret it at all.

Anecdotal evidence is irrelevant, Blu-Rays are infinitely more expensive than DVDs. I believe that when you are 25 and you try to withdraw money from the ATM but cannot do so, your mind will immediately think of those dollars that you burned away on Blu-Rays and you will experience regret. Meanwhile, when I am 25, I will go to withdraw money from the ATM and not only succeed, but I will also have enough left over to purchase a used Ford Focus, and I will not regret that at all.

They are not infinitely more expensive. Your desperate use of hyperboles won't change the fact that they are still relatively affordable and offer significantly better video and audio quality than DVDs. I'm sure that I'll have sufficient money available to buy a car by the time I'm 25 and I'll have no regrets about the access I will have on a daily basis to the magnificent, eye-popping visuals of my Blu-Ray collection. You, on the other hand, will have a slightly better car but an infinitely inferior collection of discs that will most likely be entirely obsolete by 2020.

Blu-Rays are 200% more exensive than DVDs according to a Harvard study. http://www.chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2013/4c2930/ I believe that that constitutes "infinitely" more expensive.Ra's al Ghul wrote:They are not infinitely more expensive. I consider myself a casual movie watcher, one who does not watch too many. I am this way because I am aware of what movies can do to people. Not only have movies led to gang violence worldwide, but they have also encouraged negative depictions of women and also stimulate stupid neurons in our brains, making the movie watcher stupider. As such, I would like to add to my previous prediction. When you go to the ATM, you will be going to get money to buy heavy ammunition for your gang leader. You want to make a quick getaway, so you start up your car-a dependable car, but an extremely slow one. "This simply will not do!" you cry, and you hop out and wave your arms frantically at the latest driver-by. "I wonder who this strapping young lad is, driving a high-speed convertible with the wind gently tossing his gorgeous English locks about," you think. The driver looks at you-the knife strapped to your leg and your t-shirt with a misogynistic slogan discourage him from slowing down, but what is more disturbing to him is the Blu-Ray case that you are holding in your trembling hand. The handsome young man named Glen speeds up and yells out, "get a DVD you hedonistic hyena."

I would admit defeat but, according to a study by the University of Cambridge, none of what you said will happen. Here is the study in question: http://2009.igem.org/Team:Cambridge/Research

I hate using torrents, I am afraid. I have a feeling that if I use them too often, I'll be that kid who gets hit with a 600,000 dollar fine. Which is a shame, because they're economically better off just leaving pirates alone.PrideOfTheMidlands wrote:Both DVDs and Blu Rays are pointless considering there is a whole internet full of torrents!
