In my opinion Sturridge is miles better than Sterling He should be starting most games now as opposed to Sterling. And Suarez wouldn't let Rodgers give him a rest He loves playing football, I really like that about him.Jord wrote:I think we need to give Sterling a break and offer Sturridge a few run of games now.

Allen was really dissappointing, fucking werid player. Dominates some games and then has games like this.
Johnson was pretty bad, 2nd goal was his fault.
also
Lucas was terrible.

Allen's been poor for quite a while now.
And yeah Johnson was unusually disappointing today, really struggled.

It's alright I suppose, if you like you slice of life anime with bits of comedy, drama and romance in it. In other words don't watch if you're expecting anything terribly exciting to happen.Cam wrote:Is it good?

I don't know why allen has been bad, He started so well but Johnson was so frustrating.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
I blame Johnson's sub-par performance on the partner infront of him; Sterling. He let the defence through on the left side plenty of times. Must be extremely frustrating having to babysit and play in an awkward position at the same time(He's miles better at Right-Back).
Johnson will be dandy again when Enrique returns and we get Downing, Suarez and Sturridge upfront together.

It's hard with Sterling, loads of potential and I really like him and want him to do well, but he really does need to work on his tracking back, end product and finishing. For now Suarez, Sturridge and Downing should all be picked ahead of him.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Agreed, having two outrageously athletic and talented fullbacks is an excellent asset. If Enrique's injury continues to be a problem for a while, we need Borini on the wing. He has excellent speed, he is excellent on the ball, and he has the workrate of Dirk Kuyt with 10x the footballing IQ.Jord wrote:I blame Johnson's sub-par performance on the partner infront of him; Sterling. Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
tbh I'd rather have Johnson RB Downing LB, than play Wisdom.
Also hope Rodgers mixes things up against Norwich like he did towards the end of today's game. How about something a little more different, like this
Reina
Wisdom-Skrtel-Agger-Johnson
Lucas
Downing----------------------------Borini
Gerrard
Suarez-----Sturridge
Not too sure if that would work actually

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
From what I could see we played this in the 1st half
I think Allen was supposed to be the most advanced of the 3 in midfield, but he was often nowhere to be seen, then again, considering how bad on the ball he was that was probably a good thing.
In the 2nd half it was more like this
Borini seemed to play closer to Sturridge than Downing did though, mainly because Downing tends to go hiding in big matches, he was quite happy to give the easy pass to Wisdom or Gerrard rather than taking any responsibility.
I have no idea why Allen stayed on and Lucas was brought off, it wasn't Lucas' best half, but he made a few good tackles and was more reliable in possession, Allen was awful.
We really need Enrique back, I didn't think I'd see myself say that 6 months ago, but the balance and width he provides is vital for our play. Sturridge is much more of a physical presence than I thought he was, very powerful runner and quite strong.
Although we're 9 points off 4th it's not impossible (I admit it's very very unlikely), the annoying thing is we could easily have picked up an extra 9 points in the first half of the season. The signing of Sturridge gives me hope that we'll make up some of those points, I'd be satisfied with Europa League qualification.
Hopefully in the last couple of months we play quicker attacking football, like Benitez often used to do. I'd like to see a team like this in the second half of the season:
Those full backs are very attack minded and with Borini, Suarez and Sturridge being very fluid and interchanging almost constantly, they should have plenty of space to run in to. I also think that we should look into finding a top class number 10 in the summer, someone to play in the role I have Henderson in. I'm not Henderson's biggest fan but I'll happily admit that he's showing signs of improvement, I think we should give him another season at least to show us what he can do. A player like Eriksen would be perfect for that role, unfortunately I think he'll have better offers.
We should also sign a left sided player, someone who can play at both LB and further forward would be perfect, I'm not sure who is available that can do that though.
Reina
Wisdom - Skrtel - Agger - Johnson
Gerrard - Lucas - Allen
Downing - Suarez - Sterling

There was a cross that came in that he didn't look convincing on and I thought he should have done better with the goal, then again maybe that deflection came at him too quick, not sure. He made a good save from a shot by Kagawa.

Good save to deny Kagawa, distribution seemed pretty poor, doesn't look too comfortable passing it short imo.Chip wrote:thoughts on Reina

I was happy with him, maybe could have done a little bit better with their 2nd goal, but he's improving from what he used to be like.

£4million deal agreed for Vegard Forren according to Twitter, doubt it though. He's a centre back, says it all.

Rated highly in Norway. Everton were after him last summer I think.
