It won't affect Suarez' game. He doesn't listen to Rodgers. I don't think Rodgers even tells Suarez what to do. It's not like Suarez spends the whole game on the shoulder of the defender. He drops deep. He goes out wide. He does whatever the fuck he wants. That's not the role of a no.9. I bet he's told Rodgers to never sub him as well.

It just means we're gonna have to drop a winger. Not the end of the world. As much as Downing has improved I still don't wanna see him play. This is an improvement.

The only catch I can see is we're probably gonna be exposed at the back on whatever wing Suarez is on. But then, even in recent games I've seen Suarez chasing fullbacks well into our half.

    I'm happy with this.

Seems to suggest that Suarez will mostly play behind Sturridge, drifting wide every now and again so there isn't gaps down the wing. I'm imagining similar goals/movements to when he shrugged off the Sunderland defender for 2-0.

The front three should really be interchangeable though, they can all play up front and out wide (Sterling to a lesser extent but Borini could)

Not sure why both Gerrard and Rodgers have come out to basically say "no screw ups Danny, you better perform", he's probably aware of that.

However, Rodgers' insertion of Sturridge in the central striking role and his reasoning for doing so, in my mind extinguishes any remote chance we had for moving for Walcott.

I do actually want to see Downing play on current form, but he'll likely be left back now Enrique is injured.

If you consider our wide players though, it would be Sterling------------------Suarez and Downing-------------------Johnson.
Not exactly the most defensively gifted players there

Mf, Johnson & Agger are good players. Rolling Eyes

Lucas looks to be done for life, though. Carrying the midfield alongside the two apes Adam and Gerrard has taken its toll on his knees.

As has been said before it wont make a difference, Suarez is a kid on the pitch that does what he wants when he wants and will continue with the same results as usual because he is the main man.

Called this one from the start. Glad Rodgers has used sense here and realised that Sturridge is a striker and not a winger.

Don't understand how so many people have forgotten how bad Downing was for 18 months because of a few decent games, should still be sold as soon as we've got sufficient back up.

The front 3 will rotate a lot, Suarez will probably do near enough the same as he's doing now, except he'll have Sturridge to fill in the gaps when he drops deep, which is something Sterling and Downing don't do.

I'd be happy for Downing to stay to be honest. Don't see the point in selling him based on his previous poor form. He seems to be doing well at the moment and is good back up for a number of positions.

Enrique's out for six weeks with a hamstring injury. Johnson to left back then. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Robinson given a chance.

We splashed out £3 million to get rid of him. We won't be paying him anything else.
