He's coming back from a big injury so was always going to be rusty, played not that many games which he wasn't great in to be expected, and then he had a broken nose.
What makes you think he's lazy or can't be asked playing?
I watched a lot of Dortmund when he won the title with them. They were by far the best team in the country and dominated the play wherever they went, playing in that sort of team is dead easy despite how fast the league is. What I'm trying to say is it's different for him when he's playing for Liverpool(It may be because we're shitty, but it's different). Just watch him the next time he plays; he doesn't want to be here and he doesn't fit our style.Laurencio wrote:You are comparing a talent to the finished article. He isn't really going to be like Alonso, one of the finest midfielders you've had, until he's matured. The fact that Rodgers seems clueless about how to play him most certainly isn't doing him any favours either. As for the Premiership being too fast, he did very well in the Bundesliga for a team that played lightning quick football at times, clearly he's no slouch.

Oh and like I said before; He wouldn't work in Fergies system either, I just can't see it happening for him here regardless of his talent.
Shelvey has been shite lately. I see your game though, so no.Theo Filippo wrote:I agree with Jord, drop Sahin and play Shelvey so he can swagger around and get "stuck in."

He's not a defensive midfielder you ape.
He said: 'I’ve played my whole career deeper – that’s my position.
'But I have played as a No 10 here. It was new for me but I tried my best.
'If I could choose a position it would be holding, as I feel more comfortable playing deeper and can give my all.'

Because he plays deeper he is a defensive midfielder? You never heard of the DLP in the double 6 formation you monkey? The good teams in the BuLi use it:
Bayern - Kroos/Schweini
Dortmund - Ilky
Schalke - Holtby
Even in 10/11 Sahin would be playing alongside S. Bender and Silva who would be the defensive midfielder, and Sahin would be the DLP who controlled the tempo of the match.
Why not just call Pirlo a defensive midfielder with that stupid logic...

Did someone drop you on your head as a child or can you simply not read?
"If I could choose a position it would be holding,"
You should seriously end yourself if you think you're remotely smart

He said himself that he is a holding midfielder, are you thick or what?
You're basically arguing with wood here.Carlos Jenkinson wrote:Alaba v2 wrote:

Just hope he's as good for us as he was for BoltonScouser_Dave wrote:Surridge deal done.
