Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
How can he have a medical here when the transfer window is closed?
Finally got to see a full game, too.
Reina - Did nothing spectacular, didn't have to. Good distribution
Glen - One of our best players. He's a boss.
Enrique - Played well. Like how he uses his body but he still seems like kind of a dumbshit.
Lucas - Didn't stand out today. That doesn't matter at DM, he playde well but the point is he wasn't the focus cuz we had the ball.
Gerrard - I thought he was maybe our best player even before or without the goal consideration. He played about 5 cross field on the dime balls. he can't control what happens when it gets there, but he was great today. Was passionate today.
Suso - Thought he was maybe our worst player. Didn't do much positive, should have scored.
Suarez - Thought he was off today, but he still scored. His touch failed him in the box multiple times. Love watching him play.
Downing - Thought he was good even without the goal, whichs should have been saved. Thought he was direct, he mixed it up, and he hustled, which matters to people. Don't think he should be starting many games, though.

Doesn't matter when a player has a medical. Voronin had a medical with us in February before he signed in the summer of that year. The transfer window opening just makes it official with the Premier League and gives the green light for the transferred player to start for his club.

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is due to have a medical at Liverpool on Sunday ahead of a £12m move.
£12m is quite a lot really.

Thoughts on Sturridge coming for 12?
I think he's good, but he needs to be technical enough to link well with Suarez.

Suso is wasted on the wing, we'll never see the best of him there

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Really harsh on Suso.
His closing down was excellent. His passing was on point. As El Jefe said, he's not a winger but it wasn't the worst impression.
Shelvey was fucking dogshit. Anonymous most of the time.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
He is skilled, quick, strong, and has a proven record of scoring goals at striker and as a wide forward. He will not displace Suarez, and he will be ready to fit into the front three. He will be great for us, and his left peg is God's gift to wingplay. He will be a great player with proper coaching and the right attitude.Mustangt125 wrote:Thoughts on Sturridge coming for 12?

Sterling - Sturridge - Suarez
With Suarez cutting in and roaming around, and Glen Johnson coming up the pitch

However, it will be good to have Borini back at some point. Once he settles, his exceptional movement and tremendous workrate will be tremendous assets, I have no doubt that he will contribute decently to our goals tally next season. It will be nice to have 3 players capable of approaching double figures for the first time since 2009 (I think).

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
Sturridge actually has a solid Premier League goalscoring record in his career.
15 goals in 38 league starts, including 4 in 6 for City & 8 in 12 for Bolton.
11 in 24 for Chelsea is decent considering he plays on the wing for them.

Sturridge said he preferred to play as a centre-forward rather than as a wide player. "I do still see myself as a striker but I am doing a job for the team and I'm enjoying doing it". Sturridge also said that he models himself on Thierry Henry who, "played wide for Juventus and then went to Arsenal and played as a centre-forward."

He's leaving Chelsea because he will be a guaranteed starter for us and that will enhance his chances of getting into the England team.

If we could clone Glen Johnson and play him as left back, right back, left wing and right wing we'd piss this league.
Who remembers the Soto parody account from the Hodgson days? Was the only thing that got me through that 6 months.
