Speaking of BPL players and the MLS at one point Guadalajara tried sending Javier Hernandez to Chivas USA but the coach at the time turned him down. I wonder how that would of turned out.

He is capable of doing so in the MLS. I said "if he settles quickly," he will score 20+ goals.Scuba Steve wrote:And?

Chivas is a black hole, he would've been lost in the abyss.

I think so, if you include cup games and whatnot.Scuba Steve wrote:Glen Damon wrote:He is capable of doing so in the MLS. I said "if he settles quickly," he will score 20+ goals.

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
Thierry Henry has never scored 20 goals in his two full MLS seasons. And he's fully settled. Of course, he's never played even 30 games in a season, but that's due to wear and tear of age. Considering Lampard is just a year younger, scoring that many goals seems quite unlikely (especially for a midfielder).
Even if he does "settle quickly".

if there's a word that describes Chivas USA right now it's "souless."dena wrote:Ché Guayaba wrote:Speaking of BPL players and the MLS at one point Guadalajara tried sending Javier Hernandez to Chivas USA but the coach at the time turned him down. I wonder how that would of turned out.

The Panchito, Claudio, Marsh and Guza era, now that was a team. Miss those days. One of the reasons I'm really happy about Chelis being appointed manager is that he's a character and his presence alone will make going to Chivas games more entertaining.

No wonder they have no fans... It's like the Mets/Islanders/Padres/tonnesofotherteams of the MLS.

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
Never really pay much attention to TFC but the few games I saw on the tele he didn't seem any good but when I went to the match against Montreal I thought he was the only decent looking player TFC had on the pitch. Great control of the ball and was always looking for the short, quick passes. Unfortunately no one else was capable of it and most of the match was just Eckersley booting the ball up the field. You could see the frustration in Hassli when he would try play some passes and others would just hoof it away. Don't blame him for wanting to leave really. Was never going to succeed with that type of play.Jorlung wrote:Hassli wants out of TFC. Thank god, never wanted to sign the guy...

Hassli really is garbage. Somehow he rails off the occasional wonder goal, but otherwise he's just a brute.

Dilly Duka anyone? Will take any reasonable offer.
Mirosevic is gone. Horton will be loaned out again. Crew are failing so hard right now.

Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) Thread
When your first eight options fall through, go with the obvious. To be fair, it worked for us. But we aren't a glamor club, so it's a different situation. There are a lot of egos to manage there, and expectations out the wazoo.

I'd put Henry, Cahill, Espindola, Olave, and Cooper who aren't going to be thrilled with Petke as the manager.
Banged in 16 goals during the season, and a bunch during the post season.Cam wrote:Is Robbie Keane doing well?
