On the other hand, my cousin's father tells my cousin to go through his pocket for how ever much money he needs everyday, he pays for his college tuition, buys him his phones, will even buy him a car (and possibly a house). Yet when his parents refuse to buy him a particular thing, he calls them cheap.

I think people like us, who pay our way from an early age might be less likely to be stuck for money when we're older and appreciate it more and not spend it on useless shit.
