How can you guys stand this shit? I mean really this is pro sports not the fucking joy luck club, yeah you all love him you understand he has a commendable philosophy and is a good player coach, but it doesn't win trophies as quite frankly starting to make a mockery of the club. No other top 4 manager looks at Arsenal as a serious threat. The mentality in England is so out of whack with the ridiculous loyalty to managers who should be fired months weeks or years before they are . Ie Benitez, Keane, Dalglish, Wenger


Edit: and why does he consider is a win to get into a contest he has zero chance of winning? To get more money the club won't spend? To raise ticket prices even higher?

Third or fourth is the best we can aim for with the resources at our disposal. It's like a trophy in the same way that avoiding relegation is like a trophy for a team like Wigan. It's stupid to suggest that Wenger should be sacked when he meets the club's expectations every season.

Oh, and to compare him to Dalglish, Keane and Benitez is extremely insulting.

I'm just sayin expectations should be higher, Liverpool's expectations are to win the league, it's crazy to even hear pro athletes settle for less than the best. Shit even teams like Wigan set high goals like top 10 not just avoid relegation


I'm not comparing him to them skill wise as a manger, it was a comparison in the argument he should have been sacked already and has been at the club a tad too long like them

Why should they be higher? They should be proportional to the club's resources. How many other clubs have to sell important first team players every year and still manage to qualify for the Champions League regularly? Udinese are the only other team I can think of and even they've failed to make it past the play-off rounds in the past two seasons.

Then I guess everyone really should just be talking about how Arsenal have fallen from graces and no longer are competing for trophies which is sad, because I miss the days of Liverpool and Arsenal in the title race. They also should lower ticket prices since their fans are paying for nothing

Well really, top 4 is the 3rd best thing on offer after the Champions League and Premier League. FA Cup and League Cup aren't good enough prizes anymore, teams would rather avoid relegation by the skin of their teeth than win a cup, not good.

Everyone's been doing that for a while now and rightly so. At the moment, Arsenal are in no position to compete with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.

But no, ticket prices shouldn't really be lowered. Fans aren't paying for nothing. They're paying to see the most entertaining football in the country. And the higher the ticket prices, the more income the club makes and the sooner the club can get out of this financial mess.

Guess that's true, I just feel I hear from more content Arsenal fans than angry hungry ones, a little odd to an American sports fan but I understand. Not having a go here either, but the most entertaining football in the country is between teams fighting for the title doing what it takes to win, nothing more beautiful in sports than that, it's all about winning, I'm too competitive to care about anything less, honestly I hate losing more than I even like winning and that's the hunger champions need to have, you are talking to a pub league champion here so I'm kind of a big deal

What Koren said. CL is what it's all about now, attracts the best players and gives you a decent pay packet for transfers and such.

FA cup and League Cup not that important anymore to the top teams. A shame but true.

North London is arguably the wealthiest area for a team to play in the whole league, literally the only people who own season tickets these days are middle class people

He didn't really say anything that wrong, he just said that Champions League football is more important than winning the FA Cup or Carling Cup, which is true. I'd say the only problem is when you just stick with getting 4th each year, while not really trying to push on.

As an Arsenal fan it's not what you want to hear, but it's realistic, practical, and true.

Up against City Chelsea and United who will all have endless money you gotta hope for Champs League to attract better players.
