After skipping around several challenges in the box, Ronaldo chipped a wonderful shot over the stranded Spanish keeper, Iker Casillas. The ball traveled over the line, before clueless clown Nani headed the ball into the back of the net for some insurance.
When Nani attempted to take Ronaldo's goal for his own, Nani instead took a goal away altogether, as he was incorrectly ruled offside. Numerous television angles showed that Nani was onside, and despite Ronaldo's petulant protests, the decision was not overturned.
"I have no idea what those batty boys were looking at," Ronaldo said of the referee and linesman after the match. "I know I have a fine ass, but the ball was over the line, and Nani wasn't offside anyways."
Nani, created a bit of controversy after the match, saying that he intentionally tried to take the goal away from Ronaldo.
"If I can't score, then to hell with Ronaldo," Nani muttered to reporters. "I'm the one who looks like Michael Jackson, and Ronaldo is no different than Tito, Jermaine, Janet, or Lotoya. He should just get in line."

So what? By the way, that's debatable. Messi is at least on par with him, if not better. And he's nowhere near the douche Ronaldo is. Ronaldo gets pissy when he's not scoring. Messi gets more excited when his teammates score than he does when he himself scores. Comparable on talent, but there's no comparison when it comes to character. Is there no value in character? If so, then I can understand the Ronaldo worship. But if you're somebody who values character, then Ronaldo has to be one of the least likeable players in the world.

I honestly can't understand the comparison with Ronaldo and Messi. Yes messi has some skill and can strike a ball but Ronaldo is the complete player. He can score, take free-kicks, take corners, penaltys and I've even seen him take a long throw in and it went for miles into the box. It was on youtube. He is the most skillful player I have ever seen in my life. Ronaldo IS by far the best player in the world.

- Messi can beat players better than Ronaldo can. You don't need fancy stepovers to beat players.
- Messi can strike a ball too. He has scored several outside the box.
- Messi can score too. In fact he has proven that he is better at scoring than Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is not that good at freekicks. He misses like 90% of them. He is a lot like Roberto Carlos.- Messi can score penalties as well.
- I don't know about long throw ins, but why would you need Messi to take a long throw in.
To me, the most important things in a player of their positions is control, passing, and scoring. Messi excels in all three departments. He can take on the whole defense, keep the ball at his feet and push off opponents way better than Ronaldo, set up his teammates (look at his assist statistics), and score almost every game. To suggest that one player is "by far" the best player in the world suggests you don't watch both players that often. I personally think Messi is better, but I wouldn't dare say he is by far better than Ronaldo. They are both going to be legends of the game.
