It's the fact that you're banging on about a "brilliant team display" and we had 60% possession.

And it was an ambitious swing you bellend.

I don't know why I care anyway, West Brom are just some shitty boring club who are just going to finish mid-table. It's not like they are a threat or anything Laughing

Anyway, it wouldn't be the first game of the season without a lucky wonder goal scored against us.

Cam, this is West Brom. They're only in the league to make up the numbers. They aren't entertaining and no-one cares about them. They're just there.

team display doesnt have to mean having major amounts of posession, we defended in packs extremely well, Mulumbu and Yacob had top draw work rate as did most of the team, everyone did their bit and none of the players had to be carried.

So every single long range goal is also an ambitious swing then aswell... It's just a way to make it sound shit.

And you clearly do care, you are seething

I don't see what West Brom did brilliantly?

Brilliantly created no clear chances in the first half?

    Brilliantly managed 40% possession?

We were on top in the first half, Gera scored a great goal. That's not a brilliant team performance.
Second half we came out and dominated until we got a man sent off and conceded 2 penalties, it would be nearly impossible for you not to dominate the game from then on.

60% possession with 10 men? Laughing

Obviously the ball retention is starting to work already, shame about the red card decision.

    Nope.

Yes, pretty much. Sometimes it goes in, sometimes it goes flying over the bar.

Of course I'm seething. West Brom's the kind of team we should be tossing aside.

It's true Ed. Your insane bias is coming through when you said it was a "Brilliant team performance". We played much better football than you and if it weren't for the several wrong offsides calls against us, the two soft penalties and an undeserved red card then you wouldn't have won.

Roberto Carlos impossible goal - ambitious swing

Papiss Cisse goal of the season - Ambitious swing

Rooney Bicycle kick - Ambitious swing

    seems legit.

Roberto Carlos' goal is a prime example of an ambitious swing. He just blasted it, hence the stupid amount of swerve on it. Jesus. Also Rooney's goal took a huge amount of agility. Whereas Gera just hit it into a crowd, with Johnson baring down on him he just smacked it and hoped for the best. It looked good, but it's hardly genius. Nor does it make your performance "brilliant".

Zoltan Gera hasn't scored a goal in 4 years, it's not like he bangs them in regularly. The people you just mentioned score quite a lot of good goals shifty

Err... Possession isn't the only thing that's indicative of the quality of a performance. If West Brom won 3-0 despite only having 40% of the possession it means that they defended well and attacked efficiently. They're not expected to dominate proceedings against a team that spent more during the past two years than they have in the past twenty.

he had to get his knee above the ball to stop it from blazing over, something he could teach to the brave Luis Suarez. He had to aim it out of pepe reina's reach with not much time to do it as he was being closed down rapidly by glen johnson
