Independent Commission Preliminary Hearing
The Commission has considered all the preliminary issues raised in the list submitted by Newco and points raised in letters from solicitors acting for Newco and for Oldco. It has decided:
1. The Commission will proceed with its inquiry in the terms of the Notice of Commission and will now set a date for a hearing and give directions.
2. Oldco and Rangers FC, who are named in the Issues contained in the Notice of Commission and alleged to have been in breach of SPL rules, will continue to have the right to appear and be represented at all hearings of the Commission and to make such submissions as they think fit.
3. Newco, as the current owner and operator of Rangers FC, although not alleged by the SPL to have committed any breach of SPL Rules, will also have the right to appear and be represented at all hearings of the Commission and to make such submissions as it thinks fit.
4. Written reasons for this decision will be made available in due course.
Further to the decision made today the Commission make the following procedural orders:
1. We set a date for a hearing to commence on Tuesday 13 November 2012 with continuations from day to day as may be required until Friday 16 November 2012. We will also allocate Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 November 2012 as additional dates should any further continuation be required.
2. We direct that the solicitors for The Scottish Premier League Limited lodge any documents, additional to those already lodged, together with an outline argument and a list of witnesses by 4 pm on Friday 19 October 2012.
3. We direct that Oldco, Newco or any other person claiming an interest and wishing to appear and be represented at the hearing give intimation to that effect and lodge any documents together with an outline argument and a list of witnesses, all by 4 pm on Thursday 1 November 2012.
4. We direct that intimation of the aforesaid decision and of these directions be made to the solicitors for Oldco and Newco.
No further comment will be made.

Holding companies being members of the SPL
Rangers being "demoted" from the SPL
Rangers haven't been liquidated at all, only changed ownership and holding company
Seriously it's like all these different fucked up argument put into a blender and poured onto a keyboard.
The Maestro wrote:Dan wrote:The Maestro wrote:
Yes but you used this as a way to try and prove Rangers were the same club.
It does exactly the opposite.
No it doesn't. 'Newco Rangers' is simply a continuation of the club. It's the same club. It shouldn't be allowed, but it does.
I'll explain this one last time
A newco is not a continuation of a club.
It is a new company (therfor a new club.
The Rangers Football Club Plc are going into liquidation after failing to agree a CVA. Charles Greens consortium created a NEWCO, a new company (and club) which bought the ASSETS of The Rangers Football Club Plc including Ibrox, Murray Park etc. As they are a NEW CLUB they had to apply for a league. They applied to go into the SPL as there was an empty space after th old club being liquidated, that was rejected. They then done the right thing and applied for Division 3. I don't understand how you can see it as being a continuation of the same club. They are a COMPLETELY different Club. All they have is the old Rangers assets.
This is the OLD CLUB
This is the NEW CLUB
I won't explain it any more. You really are thick as fucking shit.

Mal what's embarrassing?
Me proving someone wrong?
Yet the person who argues just as much and is proven wrong is not embarrassing?
Also you've said nothing, and done nothing, about the people coming in and openly mocking the victims of the Hillsbourgh disaster, which was where my comment was. Instead you've just used it and applied it to this thread. Fanny.

It's embarrassing that you keep posting the same shit, in the thread of a club that has no affiliation to you. If they're a different club then why do you care? I have said this before and it's true. You do not post loads of shit talking about Elgin City, Berwick Rangers and other third division teams. Every time I come on here I see a new essay showing me how Rangers are a different club now.
People who made comments on Hillsborough got infractions. What would me saying something change?

We gave 5 year contract extensions to three youngsters (17 y/o) and the sfa have cancelled them stating that they're too young to give extensions, WTF?
Apparently we need to wait till they're 18 to give them new deals.

Barrie McKay Statement
WRITTEN BY RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB
FOLLOWING a number of inaccurate reports in today’s newspapers, the Club can confirm it has agreed a long-term contract with Barrie McKay.
Reports in today’s press suggested the SFA would reject McKay’s five-year deal as rules prevent players under the age of 18 from signing a contract of that length.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Club is well aware of the rule and at no time confirmed Barrie had signed a five-year contract.
Barrie has pledged his future to Rangers for the next five years – as stated on the Rangers website on Tuesday evening.

It's a 3 year deal with an option of a 2 year extension which we will fully exercise comes his 18th birthday, so it's effectively a 5 year deal.

Re: Official Rangers FC Thread
LEE WALLACE has handed Rangers a massive boost ahead of tomorrow's game with Annan by signing a new long-term deal with the club.
The full-back has put pen to paper on a new five-year contract which ties him to the Light Blues until the summer of 2017.
In doing so, he has become the fourth Gers player to pledge their future to the Ibrox outfit this week.
Youngsters Barrie McKay, Lewis Macleod and Robbie Crawford also committed themselves to Ally McCoist's side on Tuesday.
Wallace has become a big favourite with fans after being one of the first senior players to say he would stay with the 54-time Scottish champions in the close season.
And his performances this term have been good as he has made six appearances, scoring once against East Fife in the League Cup.
Wallace would also have been in the recent Scotland squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Macedonia had he not been injured.
We'll have exclusive reaction from the 25-year-old this afternoon on the official club website and on RangersTV.tv flagship show Blues News tonight.

Been a fabulous day. Although Scotland will continue to play some shitty dundee utd left back instead the nations best. Just because he's playing in Div 3, it doesn't mean that Lee Wallace shouldn't be playing for the national team, he's quite clearly out best option. Thank fuck Levein is getting the sack.

In other news, The club have opened contract discussions with Club Captain, Lee McCulloch.
Reckon he might get a 2 year deal.

Re: Official Rangers FC Thread
Rangers Charity Foundation has today (Friday 14 September, 2012) presented a cheque for £31,096 to Prostate Cancer UK (formerly The Prostate Cancer Charity) to celebrate the end of a year-long partnership as the Foundation’s National Charity Partner.
Over 120 of the Foundation’s supporters raised an amazing £26,096 by joining the Rangers team as they grew moustaches for Movember, with Prostate Cancer UK benefitting as the principal UK recipient of money raised during the campaign.
The Rangers Charity Foundation has topped this up with a further £5,000, taking its fundraising total to over £31,000 - smashing the target of £20,000 which was set at the start of the season.
The donation will fund the distribution of information for older men with or concerned about prostate cancer, the expansion of the Charity’s network of support groups, including the provision of additional key resources, and vital research work in Scotland into the disease.
Ann Ferguson, Head of Scotland Operations at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “We are so grateful to Rangers supporters and to the Rangers Charity Foundation for their hard work, support and generosity in helping to raise such a fantastic contribution.
“Each year in Scotland, 2700 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer. The money raised will help us to reach more of these men to make sure they get the support they need. A massive thanks goes to everyone involved in making this invaluable donation possible.”
Connal Cochrane, Manager of the Rangers Charity Foundation, said: “Our supporters have been tremendous throughout the season and particularly during Movember.
"The Rangers Movember team was one of the most successful in the country and the amount raised by the campaign, and the profile it gave to men’s health issues, was amazing.
“I would like to thank everyone who helped us make this donation possible, especially the fans who supported our events, undertook personal challenges on behalf of the Foundation and its charity partners and enthusiastically backed the Rangers Movember team.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Prostate Cancer UK over the last 2 seasons and to learn about the invaluable work they undertake at all levels to fight this disease which affects so many men in Scotland.
"Our fans have really engaged with the cause and I believe our partnership has helped to significantly raise the profile of both prostate cancer and the charity in Scotland.
“It has certainly not been an easy year for the Club or indeed the Rangers Charity Foundation, but the charitable spirit of our supporters has been really heartening and with them we look forward to continuing our wonderful charity work in Glasgow, across Scotland and overseas.
"Our focus and passion to harness charitable benefits for those most in need is as strong as ever.”
The newly renamed Prostate Cancer UK boasts a new identify to help raise the voice of the charity and reach more men. Prostate Cancer UK supports men who are confronting prostate cancer and the effects of treatment by providing vital information and services.
Prostate cancer is predicted to become the most common cancer overall (including those that affect both men and women) by 2030.
Yet many men are unaware of the disease and research is still badly underfunded. Prostate Cancer UK believes men deserve better.
With their bold new identity and approach the charity will fight for this.
Anyone concerned about prostate cancer can call Prostate Cancer UK’s free and confidential Helpline on 0800 074 8383.
The Helpline is staffed by specialist nurses and is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and Wednesdays from 7pm - 9pm.

Re: Official Rangers FC Thread
Pretty emotional video tbh. The holding company had just entered administration and most of the players were only being paid 25% of their wages and yet we still tore them apart, especially wee Sone The Timpaler.
3-0 up in the 90th minute and the referee somehow had to find a penalty & free-kick out of nothing to satisfy himself. Didn't take the shine off of it though, the stadium was packed to the rafters and fucking rocking. WATP!
