Fenway Park was fucking packed from what I saw. I kind of wish I went just for the atmosphere.

but then again, it is the scottish 3rd division. cribari wasn't first choice out of the 3 centerbacks but he wasn't notoriously terrible. i guess that's good enough lol
Thanks, yeah.

Re: Serie A 12/13
mostly liverpool fans though. the shops were selling liverpool memorabilia and all the stadium entrance banners represented liverpool. it was like an away game for us, so it was a fair win for us even though liverpool were playing a B team.
even so, i'm not a fan of serie A friendlies being played in the US. the atmosphere is always quite poor. i went to the milan derby few years ago in gillette field/stadium and they played the US national anthem prematch instead of the italian national anthem. most of the fans there were also wearing rooney and gerrard jerseys. could just be boston but that was the 1 serie A match i went outside of italy and it was bad enough to persaude me to never repeat the experience again.... or at least not pay for it
and also, liverpool is directly associated with red sox whereas roma is not, which explains the home/away scenario

Will they get a new manager until he is back or just get a new manager for ever?

Re: Serie A 12/13
We're not getting rid of Conte. It's a touchline ban which means that he can still train the club.
The Italian sporting justice system is a fucking joke. This is why other countries look down on and laugh their ass off at Serie A.
You know you're fucked when 22 of 23 players say that a coach did absolutely nothing wrong yet still gets slapped with a ban. Why does he get banned? Because someone who was involved in the actual match-fixing took a deal and saved his own ass while pointing the finger at an individual who did absolutely nothing.

Touchline ban? You sure? From what I read it was a ban from Italian football for 10 months, meaning that he would be forced into a sort of suspension. Not allowed to be involved with Juventus or Italian football in any shape or form for 10 months.
Yep, it's really quite absurd.

Re: Serie A 12/13
“He cannot work within the FIGC’s environment, or go in the locker room before, during or after the game, or go to the mixed zone or coach the team during the game,” Grassani clarified to Sky Sport 24.
“The rest, conducting technical management and preparation, pre-game training and all that concerns the relationship with subordinates at Juventus, is allowed.
“He cannot transmit information to Carrera. The regulation is clear. There were Coaches apprehended in transmitting information via mobile phones, notes or word of mouth. The regulation bans any technical coaching during a game, even through third parties.”
It's still a massive blow.
Hopefully something positive happens when he appeals on the 20th.

You seem to have a lot of inside knowledge. How do you know he isn't bent?

I don't have inside knowledge. However, I've been paying attention to all of the details as they come out because they affect my club and that matters to me.
My question is: How do these prosecutors know? Currently they have nothing at their disposal other than the word of Carobbio, which just happens to go against the word of 22 other players. Carobbio was involved with betting syndicates in actual attempts to fix matches. He's pointed his finger at a supposed bigger fish in an attempt to receive a lesser ban from football (and he did).
Conte isn't "bent" because he'd be facing sporting fraud charges if he was a match fixer. Instead, he's accused of having knowledge of two attempts to fix but there's absolutely no evidence linking him to this supposed "knowledge."
All of this seems highly suspect.

Re: Serie A 12/13
Btw, Carobbio's attempts to get himself out of an extended ban didn't actually work, but they did bring Conte into the mix. Apparently FIGC tacked on even more time onto the former's initial ban.
Apologies for any confusion my previous posts may have caused.
