I think it's clear that Aquilani doesn't want to play for Liverpool. Hodgson, Dalglish and apparently Rodgers have allowed him to leave, it's the only real explanation.

I have not really watched enough of him to pass judgment, but he plays in the hole, right? If so, it might be worth the gamble to pay 8m on him and see what happens. He probably has decent resale value as well, so it might just make sense.

I'm not saying we don't need to improve midfield, but Lucas will be back. I think we can squeeze another year out of Gerrard. Adam, Shelvey, and Henderson can rotate depending on form and injuries to Gerrard.
If we're getting 30m a year, I think we can hold off signing CMs until next year. We've got about 10 of the fuckers.
