Ribery wasn't too good either.
But why fucking go for the stuttering run-up?

Oh yes, but in terms of finishing they were terrible.kyro7 wrote:I thought Bayern played really really well.

Ribery was still better than Robben though, won a penalty, could of had a goal but was marginally offside and played some nice passes one for Robben in the first half which he completed fucked up trying to control it.Eternal Witcher wrote:Theo Filippo wrote:That stupid bald egotistical cunt along with Gomez totally fucked it.

Neuer had some balls to step up and take that penalty. Luiz' penalty was fantastic, I thought he was going to blaze it over the bar, though. Drogba technique was great, switching foot like that was risky.
Bayern were unfortunate, they missed countless chances, they could have had that game sealed in the first 90, easily. They thought they'd won when they scored and got complacent.
Congratulations to Chelsea.

Not really. For a team that was granted so much possession and control, they barely created any clear cut chances and they failed to take them when they did.

Yeah Luiz' run up just made me think of Sergio Ramos' penalty against Bayern. When Drogba stepped up I kept on remembering his miss in the ACON final this season. Was really happy for Drogba though.

They created plenty of chances, they dominated the game.. yes Chelsea made that a lot easier but I still think if Gomez wasn't such a plank they'd have scored about 4 or 5 goals.BladeGunner wrote:kyro7 wrote:I thought Bayern played really really well.

Mario Gomez, who is called the best striker in the world by some people here should have had a hat-trick in the first half

I think it was a good idea to use the keeper, while all the others are standing around under loads of pressure, he probably was more chilled as generally a goalkeeper can't lose.
Must say, he acts really intimidatingly, bouncing about and hitting the crossbar and all that.

All though he scored, his penalty was really badly taken.

No, I never said that. It's just that surely the best striker in the world would have converted at least one of the many chances he had last night?Zzonked wrote:Kuled wrote:Mario Gomez, who is called the best striker in the world by some people here should have had a hat-trick in the first half

Even the best players have off days, he was still getting in all the right positions he just couldn't finish them.

He was exactly the same against Real Madrid, I've never seen this 'clinical' Gomez that everyone bangs on about everytime I've seen him he has a worse conversion rate than Adebayor.

A poor final contested by two teams that should not have even made it this far.

Congratulations to Chelsea. Not often I side with English teams in Europe, but I enjoyed both the match and the outcome last night. Entertaining day of football yesterday.
