Should've had a hat-trick in each of his last three Champions League matches.

Gomez aint that much of an athlete, for a size like that people like Ibra and Dzeko are better athletes.Trig wrote:Yeah, I'd say he's a pretty damn good athlete, great size, good strength, and pretty decent speed.

Lux, if everyone listened to your views on football, we'd be firmly stuck in the Stone Age.
Gegilworld93 wrote:Gomez' pace is underrated but I always said he was shit, people like that Uruguayan Bayern fan that comes on here occasionally said he was the world's best striker and better than RVP even though he supports Arsenal as well
He has such a great goal scoring record because he gets three tap-ins when Bayern batter shit Bundesliga teams at home, he's average.
Big athletes are players like Ibra although he doesn't run around as much he's very agile and does have a burst of speed. I don't think there's another big striker that is athletic as Ibra and Drogba (well not as much as he was before).mauro=beast wrote:what do you mean by athlete
you can be big, tall but very immobile hence that is not very athletic
someone athletic should be very mobile and has good core strength and can cover many amount of area...at least thats an athlete for football terms....in other sports it can be different
just dont confuse good athletic footballers like example michael essien and yaya toure with big lumbering guys that arent very athletic apart from physical appearance like gomez or carroll
What happened to that guy?Gegilworld93 wrote:Gomez' pace is underrated but I always said he was shit, people like that Uruguayan Bayern fan that comes on here occasionally said he was the world's best striker and better than RVP even though he supports Arsenal as well

Completely agree with this post.mauro=beast wrote:no i agree with you, ibra and drogba are as athletic as u can find when it comes to strikers for sure
is just that i notice a lot of people on here would consider someone like gomez as ahtletic(already someone said this) and if we go deeper, they would probably say carlton cole or peter crouch as athletes because of their appearance and physical presence when in fact these players are too immobile and dont cover enough ground with or without ball. is difference between them and other striker like ibra and drogba who are mobile, strong with the ball(like the others) but can also turn, run at defenders and repeat
watching a player like gomez turn or out manoeuvres his marker is bad for your eyesight. he has a nice left footed faking step over and matthews dribble every now and then bit all top level strikers should have that capacity...even carroll can do that stuff
gomez is a good player but he is limited technically and as an athlete...not by large stretch for either, but enough for him to not be same level as some other striker
I think he created a thread saying he'd move to Canada, don't think he's posted after .Theo Filippo wrote:What happened to that guy?Gegilworld93 wrote:Gomez' pace is underrated but I always said he was shit, people like that Uruguayan Bayern fan that comes on here occasionally said he was the world's best striker and better than RVP even though he supports Arsenal as well

Yeah, I said to my dad Luiz would miss it.Kuled wrote:Yeah Luiz' run up just made me think of Sergio Ramos' penalty against Bayern. When Drogba stepped up I kept on remembering his miss in the ACON final this season. Was really happy for Drogba though.
