I think if we got to the Semi-Finals that would be brilliant but we will be lucky to get out of the group tbh.
Added a poll.

Even the media don't expect anything this time.
The way it's going we'd be lucky to get out of the group. Semi Finals would be a major achievement.
Do you think they genuinely believe we actually can?CHAMP20NS wrote:Danny wrote:No they won't.

So you're saying the FA told him to get to the Semi's and its acceptable? they will have told him to go and win it, just like every team will have

If he lost all 3 group games he would get destroyed by the media and fans.Zzonked wrote:Well he's got a 4 year deal, I don't think they'll judge him based off this competition at all.
We won't know how awful it is until he starts picking the team. Seems to have picked alot of utility players though.Theo Filippo wrote:Is he not at fault for picking an awful squad?

I'd expect a team like this to get us through the group..
--------------Welbeck
Young------Gerrard--------Chamberlain/Walcott
-----Barry/Parker---Milner/Lampard
Cole---Terry----Cahill--Johnson
-----------------Hart

Dunno why the fuck he didn't pick Carrick for the squad. It's such a shame Wilshere is injured because him and Rooney have brilliant ball retention against the best sides. At least we'll have Rooney if we get through.Theo Filippo wrote:We won't keep the ball well at all without Carrick and Barry.. we should be getting through the group still although it will be unconvincing.
Hopefully Rooney is put behind the striker and not as the lone striker with Gerrard in behind. Same thing will happen as what did in the world cup we fail to keep the ball, Rooney gets frustrated and keeps dropping deep when we finally get the ball Rooney is too deep to do anything significant and we have to resort to pot-shots.Chris wrote:Dunno why the fuck he didn't pick Carrick for the squad. Yeh Rooney should definitley just be first choice for the hole/2nd striker position and have Welbeck in front of him. If Roy plays a 442 or 433.Theo Filippo wrote:Hopefully Rooney is put behind the striker and not as the lone striker with Gerrard in behind. He can play on either wing or in the hole/cam position so I think he'll at least start a game.Grenade wrote:Anyone think Chamberlain will start straight away or barely play at all ?
