I'm pretty confident we will get out of the group, not sure where we will get knocked out though.

I think that we should/will get out of the group.
However, I'm not sure of what the team are capable of to achieve after that.
You never know what is going to happen...
Unless we get the Germans in the knock-out stages. Then it is pretty obvious.

I have 3 problems with the squad.
1. There's no Rio Ferdinand, and instead Terry the man who tried to coup a far stronger manager during a bigger tournament in 2010 is included, which is senseless man management. Simply senseless.
2. No Paul Scholes. The man almost single handedly saved our season by drastically improving our midfield. Clearly he's still good enough, and there's not a player in England who can dictate a game like he can.
3. No Micha Richards. I mean, what the fuck?
Other than that I think the squad is OK. Downing puzzles me though. I'm expecting England to get out of their group, and then for Rooney to be infinitely better than he was in 2010, because that was just shambolic. I'm expecting something like this for the first few games:
When rooney returns I'd want to see something like this (hopefully)
But to be honest I fully expect this:
Which I think would be stupid considering Gerrard and Lampard spend most of their time in the exact same space as Wayne Rooney....

I doubt that Paul Scholes made himself available for selection. IIRC he already declined it at the 2012 WC, so why would he change his mind now?

Which he's commented that he regrets. However, fair enough. I guess Barry can do an OK job in that regard as well.

Yeah, quarter final is good but there hasn't been one match so far where there was a domination in possession and been clear deserved winners, still have my doubts in him.

I must admit I thought England would be way shittier than this, now I am rooting for them because I am sick of Spain, Italy, France, Germany, etc. Go England!

It is very accurate.
First game against France consisted of an extremely defensive display with England having only 35% possession.
Second game against Sweden, England seemed rather unconvincing and only managed to get 50%, which isn't much for what's supposed to be a superior team.
Last game against Ukraine, although I din't watch it, I've read that England were unimpressive again, not bad, but not great either.

they should be advancing instead of France but they had too many defensive lapses in the Ukraine and England games and had their best showing today in a game that meant nothing for them, its a shame really when quality sides like Sweden, Russia, and Denmark get eliminated but thats the luck of the draw

I know they qualified through to the quarters, and grats to them for that, but I don't see how anyone can be proud of England's performances in the group stages. 43% possession against a team 46 places below them in the FIFA rankings is poor.

That's even worse then.
I agree, I hope they don't progress any further, for the sake of the tournament.

Seems no one wants to give him a chance even before the tournament started. Not bad that hge managed to win the group. If expectations are so low then when the time comes I guess he must be expected to lose to San Marino in World Cup qualifying.

people can be proud because lets face it at this point in international football England are udnerdogs, they've underwhelmed for years from WC 2010 and not qualifying for the last Euro to now actually doing (sort of) decent. Hopefully for world football it's a sign of even greater improvement to come, although obviously there is a long way to go

Today's game was a bit ugly but Ukraine was unable to take any of their chances. If they would have scored on one of the long distance shots things could have played out much differently. The final would have been very interesting if that goal was given.
