Not really.. Barton will be banned for four games at the start of next season, three for violent conduct and an extra game for it being his second red of the season and if the FA consider his kick at Aguero violent conduct, he will get another three games banned and a supplementary two for it being effectively his third red card of the season.

Well if he was in control of what he was doing and purposefully wanted to fight to get a reaction, then that's not really in line with "losing your head" and going crazy IMO.

Kneeing somebody in the thigh and thinking it will provoke them to get a red card is idiotic. But you may be right that it doesn't constitute "losing your head" in Barton's case. He should get more of a ban for admitting he was trying to take someone down with him. I down use this word on many, I only use it people who deserve it, Joey Barton is a cunt who shouldn't be allowed to play football. Whether or not the elbow on Tevez was legit or not doesn't matter, he would've got a red for kneeing Aguero anyway. Then he tries and has a go with Balotelli (the only time I ever wanted Balotelli to do something). Back in the old days when it was physical then ok it wouldn't be that bad, but the game has changed and moved on from that. Barton has no place in this game.
