Martinez is a very likable dude and a smart manager, but I wouldn't be quick to give him a top 6 job or something like people here are recommending, Wigan are playing well now but where have they been for the other 3/4ths of the season? They are barely surviving year after year and people are acting like he should get a shot at Europe now. A team with a bigger profile/budget/fanbase would be the most reasonable upgrade, like Aston Villa (though they look poisonous right now) or Sunderland (who are out of the picture because they are doing well).
