From the replays I have seen, I didn't see the linesman raise his flag. But does it really matter? The players are supposed to continue play until the center referee blows his whistle.

By the time the Nani goal had gone in the linesmans flag was up, but the ref decided to overrule it, so it should have been clarified more TBH.

And I think the ref was something against Spurs, a certain Pedro Mendes goal that wasn't come to mind. shifty

Doesn't matter. The linesman doesn't decide if play stops. He can only signal to the ref if he sees an infraction by putting his flag up. It's the ref's discretion to play the advantage or not, which is clearly what the ref did in that case. Gomes fucked up.

Yes but the problem was he put the flag up late, so it basically all changes, ball in the net already etc.

I love how the Spurs players were told to piss off, but Rio just walked up and shouted in the ref/linesmans faces and nothing was done about it.

It's because the officals are scared of Man United players, their the only team in the entire country that are allowed to intimidate the officals and influence their decisions. Thats why i hate Man United tbh. Neutral
