Gourcuff's horribly off form last I heard, but I'd still take him. Pretty sure he wouldn't be cheap though.

But the team I put out is actually exactly what we're looking for . Lucas is the defensive midfielder who will calm play down. Gerrard is the experienced box to box player who will create, score and defend. We have Suarez to cut inside, Suso to be the creative playmaker, Sterling is the extremely pacy winger we've always needed and Morgan can finish chances for fun.

In the reserves, yes.

Morgan is talented. His overall play is improving. He played well in the under 18's, and then stepped it up in the reserves.

Needs to go out on loan, before considered in the first team.

Not asking much of him then. Has it ever occurred to you that you don't ever really see many experienced box to box players, or any box to box players in their 30s for that matter? Gerrard will be 32 by the start of next season, you should be phasing him out, not building a team around this imaginary player who is going to be flying from one end of the pitch to the other creating, scoring and defending.

Box to box players are dying out, because they are outdated and put to much pressure on the player, and the team.

I'd really rather see Gerrard playing deep. His shooting is piss poor now, but he's still able to pick a decent pass.

Gerrard playing deep, is just painful to watch.

Main problem with Gerrard, and I think it was Jamie who mentioned this, is that he doesn't have the tactical discipline to stay in a position, he just kind of drifts wherever he feels necessary.

It's also the fact that he overhits 75% of his forward passes.

A box to box player is someone I see who is good at both attacking and defending.

I wouldn't class Song, Essien or Alonso Box to box.

Unsure over Toure. But he is exceptional.

Song, Toure and Essien are box-to-box players imo, Alonso is a deep-lying playmaker.

Yes. He's hit the bar and gone just wide several times. You're probably thinking of the penalty miss vs Cardiff. He's a better shooter than Gerrard, but Gerrard is better at finishing from close.

Well Adam is hardly ever in the box. Probably because he has better tactical discipline than Gerrard.
