As a RB I agree 100 percent, you're completely reading this wrong I'm not bigging up Smalling though he has been quality for us since we signed him, I'm questioning what you were saying about one match, that's all.

On the other hand yes, Smalling is probably the best CB, although I think Richards is also good at CB.

Out of the current squad, the players that I'd consider:

GK: Hart (None others are good enough)
RB: Johnson, Richards (Simply the best 2 imo).
CB: Lescott, Richards, Jones, Smalling (Terry, too old and I really don't like Cahill, don't think he's even nearly good enough).
LB: Baines (Cole is getting too old for me, need to start freshening up).

RM: Downing, Young, Johnson (Walcott can be good in his day, but far too inconsistent for me).
CM: Gerrard, Parker, (Don't mind Milner, Barry etc but I don't think they're quite good enough).
LM: Just sort of the same as the RM's i.e. Johnson, Downing etc can play on the left too.

ST: Rooney, Sturridge, Welbeck (Don't like Bent, find ham far too lazy/doesn't really look like he cares & Campbell, well he's simply not good enough).

    Well, he is.

Was great last season, first season at a big club. Been good this season, the contribution of the likes of him, Jones and Evans are a reason we're still up there and haven't felt a massive effect of Vidic being out for the season and the occasional injury to Ferdinand.

Him doing well for Man Utd doesn't mean he's ready for England.

We have better centre backs....Lescott has been a much better player this season. Tbh I'd rather have Richards at CB and than play Walker at RB than play Smalling. There's probably 4-5 others I'd rather play too.

Quality wise. Laurencio made the point that Smalling being ready for Man utd = him being ready for England. Evans plays for Man Utd...so my example sticks.

Tbf, Evans gets a lot of undeserved stick. Just about his only mistake this season was vs City.

I think if you're good enough for United, you're good enough for England personally. Premier League winner, and not just some cunt like Owen who didn't contribute, played a lot of games last season, and this.
