    I've left out the managers that were only in the job for a short while (Joe Mercer, Peter Taylor and Howard Wilkinson)


    The statistics, going on Win %, suggest that Capello is the best manager we've ever had, but Sir Alf Ramsey is the only manager that has won anything.

    Glenn Hoddle, Ron Greenwood and Sven all have high win percentages too.

    Capello. People go on about Ramsey, as though he was this genius, he wasn't. This freemason won a World Cup in extremely dodgy circumstances on home soil and never won anything else in 11 years of managing England, indeed in 1970 he managed to throw away a great chance to reach the Semis again, I believe. The rest of his career was hardly a series of successes either.

    If Capello had a World Cup in England where referees were favouring his team and working against other major competitors such as Brazil, giving England goals which did not cross the line, or occurred during pitch invasions, or sending off opposing players for the way they looked at them, then maybe he would win one as well.

    Bobby Robson, another manager who is so fucking over-rated based on one tournament.

    You put too much emphasis on results, if Capello had a shite World Cup it wouldn't make him a shite manager, he is still one of the best managers in the world, and the best England have ever had. If England fail it's in spite of him, not because of him.

    How the hell are people suggestion Capello is the best England manager of all time? Who is the best ever England manager? 894246

    So far he's gotten us through a VERY easy World Cup qualifiying group with no problems, fair enough. Then at the World Cup itself, we were abysmal in every single game, everything from his tactics to decision making was embarrassing.

    Statistically him being the best England manager means fuck all. International management is all about the tournaments. Fail in those, you've not done a good enough job as manager. Suggesting Capello as our best ever manager is a joke. Only thing close to this he'd win is he's the best manager in his other jobs that's ever managed England.
