Re: Is Zlatan the best striker in the world?
Koscielny does have a good burst of pace about him. Not so much on Fifa. One of them must be slightly incorrect.

If messi counts then ronaldo counts.
Only Rooney is arguable better.
Rvp is good but his injury record over the years is what makes ibra much better.

Yeah Ibra probably is better than Falcao, I was just being biased.Sean wrote:No way on Earth is Falcao better than Ibrahimovic, thats just retarded.
I would definitely take the other 4 over him though.

What does his injury record from over a year ago have anything to do with where he currently ranks among the world's best strikers?

It has to be taken into account. He is more likely to get injured over ibra/rooney.

Not really, he's been fit for ages now. What happened back then isn't relevant now.

A injury record is always relevant and 3/4 of a good fit season is not ages. Ramsey will always have that leg injury hanging over his head, He will most likely never reach his full potential now and that should be taken into account when we talk about how naturally talented he is.

His last large injury was in late 2010. Maybe if you want to weigh the value of his entire career then you can take points off for recurring injuries. In my mind, best striker in the world means who, at this moment in time, is playing the best at a consistent rate, and there is no doubt that the Robin van Persie of the past year is definitely up there.

As i have already stated, in my mind, the best strikers in the world should be the ones you can rely on at all times. RVP still doesn't have that, if we were to not include it then obviously rvp would easily be up there. but i think that injury proneness is a very important factor.

Re: Is Zlatan the best striker in the world?
He's played like Chamakh in 21 out of his 23 CL knockout games, and has only scored 20+ League goals once in a season despite being in the League winning team 9 years in a row.. Explain how that fuck he can logically be called the best striker in the world. The guy couldn't even maintain a 1 in 2 goalscoring ratio with the best midfield in the history of football behind him.

Being injury prone has nothing to do with his talent. Plus he's played the most consecutive league games for Arsenal right now (36)..
Ibrahimovic over the last 2 league seasons: Played 49, goals 32, assists 15
Van Persie over the same period: Played 52 (5 as sub), goals 43, assists 15.
I don't know how you can say Ibrahimovic is "much better".

Re: Is Zlatan the best striker in the world?
We can even bring up Ibrahimovic's season with the best team in the world and add that to them figures.
Ibrahimovic: played 78 (6 as sub), scored 48, assisted 22
Van Persie since 09/10: Played 78 (11 as sub), scored 61, assisted 22.
Same amount of games played over 3 seasons. I guess Robin isn't up there though because he's "too injury prone".

Robin van Persie
Mario Gomez
Edinson Cavani
Sergio Aguero
Carlos Tevez
Lionel Messi
Cristiano Ronaldo
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
Di Natale
I would add Luis Suarez based on his NT performances but ehhhh think said enough

Would rather Ibra over Huntelaar and Gomez. Would rather Soldado too.
