    Our national game Happy Tears

I played it at schoolboy level like 7-10, then I moved to soccer.

Such a physically demanding game, constantly on the move.

You should see hurling too, its even faster.

Yeah it's great fun. I played it from age 5 to age 18 and must've featured in every position on the field in that time.

We should've won that game but alas Cluxton had nerves of steel in converting the free kick at the end.

I wish this game was somewhat popular so at least I could see it on TV over here. Setanta Sports had a preview once when a game of this was on. It looked crazy but rather fun. I think it is slowly dying off, unfortunately.

In what way is it dying off? Its still as popular as ever in Ireland as far as I know, and it was never that popular outside of Ireland anyway.

This game really has a little bit of everything in it. I say it is a combination of association football, rugby, a little bit of basketball, aussie rules football (maybe)??, and early American football (pre 1960 when the helmets were made of leather)

Maybe I too hopeful that this game would gain popularity worldwide, or at least on TV here once and awhile. For example during the overnight hours aussie rules football would on. Sometimes that game is shown online on ESPN 3. I just wish it would be a little easier to watch this game on this side of the pond.

After reading things up and a little research I conclude that I was wrong with that statement. I guess the reason it seemed like that to me is since games are never on TV much. I just realised now that where I live has a GAA organization since so many people have Irish roots in this area.
