Here we go.
In before countless La Liga two-horse race and Serie A defensive football arguments, all of the four top leagues are fantastic to watch and really different in style, no point arguing.

Re: Best League in the World?
why make another thread about this?
this issue has been discussed and discussed and no conclusive answers have ever come about, and there will never be an answer to that question, it is but a matter of opinion.

Re: Best League in the World?
It's an exciting League, but it's sure as fuck not the best in the world off the back of that. Watching that game was like watching a load of kids play football in a playground, absolutely dreadful. Two own goals, two penalties, and there should have been another three, awful refereeing, atrocious defending, low quality shit. Saying this League is better than La Liga is like saying Die Hard With A Vengeance is better than The Godfather, huge huge gulf in class.

La Liga has the two best teams in the world but they are really the only teams challenging for the title, the Premier League is much more competitive and there are so many teams that can win the title so in my opinion, it's the best league in the world.

You could say the same of the Football League Championship though, couldn't you? Competitiveness isn't an indicator of quality. Car crash football, the sort of farcical shite we saw in United 8-2 Arsenal, Chelsea 3-5 Arsenal, United 3-1 Chelsea, United 1-6 City, and again today, it doesn't show how good the Premier League is, it shows how far it's fallen.

It may be more competitive than La Liga this season, but it also shows you how poor the quality is. Arsenal could finish 8th and Sunderland are challenging for Europe.

Re: Best League in the World?
Maybe most entertaining. Definitely not the league with the highest quality. Far too much tactical and technical ineptitude for it to be considered the best league.

We talked this over Blade, If they are sitting at 7th after 24 league games, why is out of this world that they could stay there at the end of the season?

There's a bloody seven point gap between Arsenal and Sunderland in 8th, as opposed to a three point gap between them and Chelsea in fourth.ahlycotc wrote:BladeGunner wrote:

those kind of results are what makes football exciting, just shows what can happen, one game a club is in superb form and they beat a team that's supposed to be a very tough opposition for them 8-2 and then another game they get beaten by a fellow title contender 6-1. And the Championship, yes it has alot of competitiveness but the quality of football is a class below the top leagues of the world, that's what separates them. Premier League has it all, some of the best players in the world, lots of competitiveness, quality football, surprising results at times - those traits are what makes it the best league in the world, you hardly ever see Borussia Dortmund beating Bayern Munich 8-2 or AC Milan trashing Juventus 6-1 but in the Premier League that can happen if one team is in great form and the other in terrible form, and it's very exciting to watch.
