Demba Ba will be home early.
At least RVP will have another game or 2 to increase his goal tally.

Surprised that Senegal dropped out that early. Never would have guessed that.

Think everyone was swooned by the emergence of their strike force. Takes an entire team to do well in tournaments. Plus, ask New York fans what they have ever won with Bouna Coundoul in goal

Ivory Coast are playing tonight.
I will be really surprised if they don't win with the team they've got.

Why? Since 2008 they've been playing like Malawi. Got knocked out at the same stage in 08 and didn't even qualify for the tournament in 2010...

Sudan score to tie with Angola, surprisingly.

Ba and Cisse did it intentionally to get back to Newcastle and push for the Champions League

I have to admitt, it would be awesome if you came in and stole fourth right in front of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal's noses

Sudan have been very wasteful with their chances. If Angola can close Tahir/Mustafa down on the left side then they shouldn't have too many worries.

I was expecting the Ivory Coast to be a lot better than this...

I haven't seen all the matches, but it seems like this tournament is boring compared to previous editions. Too many entertaining teams missing.

Quality just hasn't been there for me. Angola vs Sudan was unbelieavably scrappy, and Burkina Faso vs Ivory Coast was just dull.

I hate this tournament. The teams with all the high profile players always disappoint.

2 goals in 2 minutes for Gabon. Gabon are leading 2-1 against Morocco in the last 10 minutes of the match. Earlier today, Tunisia beat Niger 2-1 to book a place in the quarterfinals.

2-2. Gabon were starting to celebrate a quarterfinal place, shame.
