Most clubs can't afford to have the depth to allow for rotation without seriously weakening their starting lineup.

Teams have coped perfectly fine for years with the schedule we play now. Those that get loads of injuries are unlucky, it happens.

It seems to happen consistently. Not to mention how players from the English Premier League tend to fail to perform in major International tournaments. Could be because of accumulated fatigue.

Yes, it would, and it would benefit the English national team as well.

You guys have two domestic cup competitions in addition to league play and European competitions. It's no surprise that so many players get burnt out.

Of course it would benefit the english game, it's just highly unlikely that it would ever happen.

I would rather get rid of the Carling Cup tbh. Now that's a useless competition.

I'd rather it was changed into being a display for Premieship youngsters. Maximum 3 players above 23 in the squad or something. Would make it more competetive and more interesting, as well as reduce the strain on first team players.

Nah, it's a chance of silverware for clubs. Look at the likes of Spurs, Birmingham that have won it. If you wanna play kids in it, play kids in it.

Yet most of these players play at the top level of European football?

When you know the other side is going to be playing their best players you are highly unlikely to play kids, unless your name is Arsene Wenger.

How are you going to find time to play a 46 game schedule with a winter break? If you can answer that question then maybe you can make it work.

Yes it is. But considering you can still win something from it, teams are motivated to go for it, and rightly so. I'm just saying it would be better for English football as a whole if there were some rules that demanded youngsters to play. Would reward decent youth-development systems.

It does and they usually perform at the highest stage. Those in the England national side, don't because they are overrated.

Just like saying the FA Cup is a useless competition then isn't it? 'Cos the money in that is shite now as well. Is that what it's all about now Laurencio? Money? Carling Cup has been in the English game for a long time and it's a great cup I think, bar a few name changes.

Ignorance towards English football it is. Though I can understand that, with you being from a different country.

Nah, forget it. We need an overhaul of youth development in this country. A proper structure. Forcing teams to play kids in the Carling Cup is not the answer.

Steven Gerrard does not play like the Englishmen. He's a bit special.

You don't get head hunted by Real Madrid (a number of years as well), Roma, Bayern Munich...if you ain't got technical ability. Best English player in the last 20 years, with considerable ease.

Unlucky? Unlucky is if one team happens to have an injury crises. That's not what is happening. ALOT OF TEAMS are having injury crises, and consistently throughout the years.

How do you explain the really high number of injuries in the EPL compared to other domestic leagues in Europe?

Training methods. Training over here at most clubs is too intensive. Many foreign players and coaches have commented on this.

It's the English game in general, not just the training to be fair.

Quickest, most physical...injuries are just part and parcel of football.

I'd find a winter break shit. It's the best time to watch football, over the festive period.
