He's better than Carroll, but considering how much you guys spent on Carroll, I doubt he'd start over him.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
LIVERPOOL have risked the fury of their fans by cosying up to the shirt sponsors of bitter rivals Manchester United.
Kop chiefs ditched a local firm and put their insurance with AON — the company which pays United £20million a year.
And that means they are now indirectly contributing to the transfer and wages kitty of the team who last season finally pulled clear of Liverpool by winning their 19th English title.
A source said: "It's an incredible thing to do.
"When the Liverpool fans find out, they will be furious that the club is effectively helping United.
"Working with the sponsors of your biggest rivals looks like an own goal."
Clubs take out insurance policies worth millions on stadiums, property and against the possibility of players being seriously injured or having to quit the game.
Liverpool declined to comment.
Wut.

Re: Liverpool FC Official Thread
what's wrong with that?
just because the club pays insurance to AON doesn't necessarily mean AON will in turn increase their payout to United. They're a huge organisation, what Liverpool pays them hardly makes a difference.

I don't really get it, why would it benefit us, surely we're getting paid the same thing no matter what.

They're obviously holding back the ban. It will finally be delivered just before we play City 3 times. You watch.

3 of our next 4 games are on Sky. Aston Villa away, Wigan away, (Blackburn home not on TV) and then Newcastle at home.

Increases Manchester United's marketing potential, we're getting £20m pa already, think how much we'll get next time the deal is renewed. You're David Gill, what are you writing next time you're sending out letters looking for sponsors - "Manchester United are so popular that during Aon's time as principal sponsors of United, even another Football Club signed up to be insured by them." Looks very good for United.kyro7 wrote:I don't really get it, why would it benefit us, surely we're getting paid the same thing no matter what.
You say that like it's a bad thing? It's games against shit sides that you need Suarez more, not matches you'll probably lose anyway, or League Cup matches.Scott wrote:They're obviously holding back the ban. It will finally be delivered just before we play City 3 times. You watch.

How did you figure that out? So far this season we've not lost to any of the big teams (bar Spurs, can't win with 9 men), but have lost to shit sides. (Stoke and Fulham)

Forget this season, it's too small a sample size to make any serious judgements. Against a side that's better than you, having Suarez might make the difference between getting no points and getting one point by scoring a great goal or getting someone sent off, but if he does that against a side who aren't as good as you, or a side you're fighting with for 4th place, it could make the difference between getting 3 points and getting 1 point, or could mean as much as a 6 point swing in the fight for 4th.
Wouldn't you prefer that he's suspended for the League Cup games anyway?

Ok... Carragher, Skrtl and Kelly are damn creepy...
Spearing should be wearing green instead
Suarez and Kuyt (surprisingly enough) are pretty good.
