I was brought up on Football in pretty much the middle of London and my father supported Chelsea and when it was my 7th birthday and he bought me a Chelsea kit. That's when I decided they're my team.

When was the moment you knew you was going to be a fan of the club you support for life?

12ish. 2002 WC got me into football, and the year after I chose Wisla as the team from Poland I would support.
Interesting story: The team I watched and supported most really was Roma. Back then I followed Seria A. It was only after moving to Poland I became a major Wisla fan.

To decide to support a club hints that you were once a fan of another club. This (thankfully), was not the case for me; I was born into a family with a Chelsea fan base.

not really, It is hinting about a time when you didn't support a club or you were not into football. It happens, i have a friend who didn't like football at all and i slowly got him into football.
This was in 2007.
He was a lucky cunt.

If you ever experienced dislike for the game then I feel that those people will never understand what football is actually about.

Recently I have grown rather fond of a club in the Dutch league called Vitesse. This is purely for the fact that I am in love with the player called Chanturia. Also Bony has proved a worthy solider in the attacking line-up.
I have even ordered a Vitesse shirt for Christmas.

I can safely say Mekuto aka Samuel, is wrong.
Growing up, I was never into football. I was one of those kids who'd toe-poke the ball with my skater shoes on.
Up until the age of around 12-13. I was only into extreme sports, like Skateboarding (which I was really good at, could do kickflips and ollie down a flight of 4-6 steps etc) and BMXing.
Then my Mum met my Stepdad, who was born and raised in Liverpool and took me to games, bought me Liverpool gear for Christmas and introduced me to football, basically.
Ever since then, I've fallen in love with football and it's a been a big part of my social life. I joined the school football team (I once played against Theo Walcott. Fact.) went to the park with my mates to play football every day after school etc. Became pretty good at the game. People (my friends) used to call me the left footed Alonso by the time I was 16-18. (I idolised him and copied the way he played the game and practised his way of passing the ball all the time) I could also do keepy-ups forever. I remember on the old EA forum, someone called me up on this and said I was bullshitting, until I recorded a video of myself doing it and putting it on youtube for them. Idiots.
Anyway, my point is. I wasn't interested in football and actually disliked it, until I was about 13 and now I'm pretty much a football fanatic. So yeah, Mekuto is wrong.

I watched a lot of international football of England and Germany when I was younger, never really watched club football. David Beckham was my favourite player (when I was younger). I only started watching club football in Arsenal's last season of Highbury. In which my favourite player was Jen Lehmann mainly because im half German and I was a goalkeeper and started supporting Arsenal from there.

Perhaps the essential point of your post may be correct, but I feel you didn't completely understand what I meant. I stated that those who disliked the game will never understand the game in complete depth; this was not the case for you. Going to a match doesn't necessarily mean you'll fall in love with the sport, I strongly believe that love for things in particular is something you are born with. Perhaps you didn't follow the sport when you were younger because of skill levels, as opposed to the brilliance of the game.

When I was about 6-7 in Greece I watched Panathinaikos, and from then on I have loved football and Panathinaikos. Quite a lot of my family supported them as well.

I joke of course big lad, it was when I was born, 1993. Think we had just been promoted, not sure.
