Nani is the most talented player on the team. He should be top dog, imo.

I hope he does.
He had had no clue what he is doing this season.

Carrick

Berbatov
I fail to see anymore players at Manchester UNited that should be playing for the ENglish Champions.
Fergie did not sign a CM
Also before anybody says it I'll tell you I don't believe the Cleverley and Anderson hype

Can't believe people are serious about Fergie quitting I know it's disappointing. But it's not like we've gone 5 years without a trophy. It's one competition. We are still in for the League and the FA cup. Besides, we aren't always going to be guaranteed trophies. One season without a cup isn't going to kill us. Don't like it support Barcelona.

I can't believe people are so adamant that he should keep his job. Why is it acceptable to go out of the Champions League here, in such a pathetically weak group? Why is it acceptable to have no midfielders for a key Champions League game, when you have a £50m+ budget in the summer, and a midfielder who is begging to play for the club for nothing? Why is it acceptable to put out a Carling Cup side in a game at Anfield? Why is it acceptable to play a Youth Cup side in a Carling Cup Quarter Final? Why is it acceptable to lose 6-1 at home to Manchester City?

It's not acceptable. Well, Carrick was out suspended, Cleverley and Anderson both injured, Fletcher in terrible form and who else could you play in CM? How do you know we had a budget of £50m+?
The side got a draw at Anfield, a place where we usually go and get out played. Not a bad result for us, why you complaining?
The same Youth side which has played in the two previous rounds of the competition (except Giggs) but when we win it's fine, no mention of it. It's the Carling cup, to say I was deeply hurt by that would be laughable. The performance from the players wasn't good enough, that's the only disappointing thing.
Again, it's not acceptable. The players kept pushing and weren't listening to instructions. 3-1 was a respectable scoreline until the defence wanted to be forwards and leave gaping holes for them to score 3 goals.
The amount of times Ferguson has proved his critics wrong, like you, he'll do it again. You're writing him off, which you should know is a very silly thing to do. But that's your opinion and I'll try and respect that. I'll agree, some times we all get angry with the management but to want him to leave after a bad half a season, if that, is ridiculous.

Don't ask stupid questions. There wasn't anyone else he could have played in CM because he didn't sign any central midfielders.

Just because you sick your hand in the wasps nest and don't get stung, doesn't mean it's a good idea to do it. We should have won that game, instead of playing a half strength side for no reason.

Again, wasps nests. We did the same thing in the Champions League, dropping great players for no reason.

It's not knee jerk at all, the quality of the squad and particularly the first team has been in a downward spiral for fucking years. 6 years ago to this dat was the morning after we went out of the CL in the group stage, and 3 years after that we were World Champions, he took us to the top of the mountain and now he's dragged us right down to the bottom of it again. Is he capable of taking us back up? I don't think so, for reasons of time as much as anything else.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
When you mentioned the £50m budget I completely forgot about the players we brought My mistake. Although, we did need a keeper and a left winger. However it wasn't enough, we are crying out for a CM, I've said it for years though.
Again, Anfield result was nothing to worry about Might not have been a good idea but got a result. I can't remember the last time we done well at Anfield and won, seems like a distant memory.
It's the Carling cup, why are you bothered about it so much? We took the group stages to lightly and we paid the penalty. It's a mistake but we'll bounce back and be in the competition next year. The only good thing is we wont have to be humiliated by either Real Madrid or Barcelona (Might get humiliated against Ajax, A.Madrid or City instead)
I believe Ferguson can take us back to the top. A defeat like this is the kind of motivation they'll need, something they wont want to happen again, it'll kick them into shape, I hope. He's done it countless times before, he's rebuilt 5/6 squads since he's been manager here and only 1 of them has been bad - Kleberson era, as I like to call it. With the young players such as De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Hernandez, Welbeck, Evans, the twins... They'll get better.

Moscow, how do you explain Fergie paying £21m for De Gea, £18m for Ashley Young and £18m for Phil Jones this summer, but not buying a central midfielder?

We needed a keeper.. We did need a left winger, needed one ever since Giggs moved central a few season back. I did find the Jones deal a bit weird considering we needed a CM (He's been a great player, not sure we needed to splash out on him though).
I've said it countless times though, we've needed a CM for years.

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
Exactly. So you can't use his lack of transfer budget as an excuse. He obviously had it, just look at the transfers he made this summer. That's £57m spent and not a single central midfielder signed, only acouple of squad players signed and a error prone goalkeeper who hasn't lived up to his price tag so far. That is unacceptable on Fergie's behalf.
I admit, before the start of the season i still thought Man United would cope without signed a central midfielder this summer and Fergie would prove all the doubters wrong, but looking back i can see where he went wrong and what's cost him so far this season.

I don't get how he could think of playing Park and Giggs against Basel after the carling cup tie... I mean, we had to draw or win this, and he puts out more or less the same midfield as the one that got knocked out by Palace? Surely something is off with him lately?
Saying there is only one midfielder we are interested in and he is unavailable is also unbelievable, considering we could stick Murphy in there and it would be an improvement....

Re: Manchester United FC Official Thread
List of Ferguson's beliefs
1) Liverpool Vs. Manchester United is bigger than Real Madrid Vs. Barcelona
2) As of two weeks ago, we were not struggling the Champions League, and the idea was laughable
3) We are definitely getting closer to Barcelona
4) There are only two or three players in world football who could improve our midfield, and they are not available
I am worried he has Alzheimer's disease.

whats this conception that fergie didnt try to sign a CM. you are all talking about shit you dont know. no one can know what goes on behind the scenes
its not about just buying any CM, its about buying the right CM. maybe fergie is willing to wait abit for the right CM, no one knows so stop talking like idiots
criticizing the liverpool score?? the team that just beat chelsea twice and drew with man city's first team? and we gte a draw there with our 2nd team, looks a great management to me. you are an idiot
Fergie cannot be blamed for the CL, simple as. you only need to watch the matches to see that, individual mistakes cost us in the early matches. we dominated every match in the group, deserved to win all of them. rooney missed an open goal against basel at 1-0, what can ferie do about that. you are so fucking clueless RR. you have this idea in your head that fergie should leave so whenever ANYTHING bad happens its fergies fault when in reality its not that simple. whenever something good happens its luck or you just stay quiet
you said your piece so now you can STFU and stop bringing this topic up after every week!! you can live in your deluded world but stop trying to recruit people, you are a fucking cult

and bad results put on the midfield solely oh man, what a bunch of media whores. the midfield is good, not world class but to say players like murphy would improve it if everyone is fit our midfield perfectly fine. can it improve? sure, but so could every teams midfield bar barca chelsea tried to sign Modric so they must think they need a midfielder, yet they failed, its not easy when you dont have unlimited money. teams like man city broke the transfer market and players that are worth £25m now go for £45m because man city bought someone similar for that much.
if we had signed ONLY a midfielder this summer for £50m i would be fuming. wide areas needed more players and GK was a must and Jones is a world class player in the making (so sold oshea and brown to get him)

There are hundreds of players who could improve our midfield.

Why pick the fucking 2nd team in the first place? If Usain Bolt went to the Olympics, and he decided to run in slippers rather than running shoes, and won the silver medal, would everyone praise him for doing so well in slippers, or would they say 'Why the fuck didn't you wear running shoes?'

Yes he fucking can...you never see Milan, Madrid, Barcelona going out in the CL group stages, do you? Because they build teams that are far too strong for the opposition to compete with. Jesus Christ, going to Switzerland, to FC Basel, not even needing a win to qualify, just a point, and we still lose? How can you carry on defending this guy?
