I am genuinely stunned to read that Ferguson has been shortlisted for the FIFA Coach of the Year Award.

Apparently 3 trophies and an unbeaten season with only 3 draws isn't enough to get you shortlisted, but getting battered in a Champions League Final and winning the Premier League is.

RR who would you appoint as United Manger?

Is anyone else seriously worried about going to Basle without Carrick? Man Utd's midfield with no Carrick is like diarrhoea with no toilet paper.

RR is the reason there needs to be a system where it bans mentally challenged people from the internet

Ah. I suppose his slightly troubled Chelsea start (which isn't as bad as people want us to believe) ruined his chance of being nominated.

I agree, it would greatly enhance the internet for me if people like you were expelled from it.ViVaRooney wrote:RR is the reason there needs to be a system where it bans mentally challenged people from the internet
Well yeah, but they're only what, 5 points behind Ferguson's United, and he still gets nominated.Laurencio wrote:ResurrectionRooney wrote:

Nice analogy. I agree though.
Yeah i hate to bring it up again but United's midfield really is in dire state. There's Carrick being United's only decent holding midfielder, and then there is a real lack of creativity in midfield apart from Cleverly who is hugely inexperienced.
I'd be baffled if Fergie dosen't do anything about this in the January transfer window.

I really hope United's midfield gets fucked in Basel then it will highlight the importance of Michael Carrick to the delusional idiots who say he is shit and Darren Fletcher is better

It's all about PR, although we are lagging behind City no one is actually saying we are doing poorly, despite conceeding more shots on goal, having less posession and creating less chances than Chelsea. It's "regular old United, with all the experience in the world to make up for it " While Chelsea and Villa Boas who is getting an awful lot of undeserved stick, are in a crisis.
That being said Ferguson is a great Manager so I assume it is as much his position for the past 25 years that noinated him, as it was last years performance.

I'll be surprised for a number of reasons
1) It would be an intelligent move
2) Given that he didn't do in Summer, there is little reason to assume he would do it now, especially in a position where a player bedding in is important
3) Any player who he signs will be cup tied for the Champions League, which hopefully will still be a problem for us then

Chelsea are in trouble, their defense has been awful, their £50m striker looks like a league 2 player and they have lost all their big games so far.. 5 points gap AFTER 14 GAMES, 10 points from the leaders. thats too much a gap in too small a time, sure you could say there is time to make it up but more realistically there is also time for the gap to grow
Boas has not done a good job but thats not his fault really, he is trying to introduce a different style and that will take time. on the manager award, ofcourse fergie is gonna be in it, he won the toughest league in the world. that alone puts him in the shortlist easily.
what people dont seem to realize is that we are far better position right now then we were last season. and everyone know we only get better as the season goes on. Man City will win the title this season cause they have by far the best squad in the world (world, not just england). they arguably have a better squad then Barca (but a worse starting 11) and only having a average manager will hold them back. the challenge for city isnt this season, its next season when they have to defend their title, thats the real challenge.

Do you honestly expect to compete against the big boys in Europe with Jones and Giggs in a central midfield partnership using a 4-4-2 formation?

Torres has nothing to do with Villas Boas, he wasn't his signing, I doubt he was even Ancelotti's. There's very little he can do with that team. It's only a draw and a defeat, 5 points.

Ferguson has never even managed in Spain.

When even one of his greatest advocates thinks he can't defend the title when he finally has a high quality opponent to do it against, that is when he should not be considered as the best manager.

No surprise we have injuries when we're reliant on that fucking disgrace Anderson, the notoriously injury prone Cleverley and the diseased Fletcher. I saw this scenario coming months and months ago - why didn't Ferguson?

dont tell me spain is the toughest league... that league has 2 big clubs, its like the scottish league
Premier league there are far stronger teams outside the big 3 (chelsea, man utd, arsenal) and now there is even more with man city, spurs and liverpool all improving. there not huge gaps between most the teams.

oh yeah, 21 point gap between 2nd and 3rd is so competitive
