No I know, It's more the system which people are going to exploit but if a club decides to keep a player that's signed for a certain amount of time there shouldn't be a fuss about it and if the player causes problems to try and force a move then there should be something in place to protect the club, Look at this stupid Tevez situation.

If someone is holding you somewhere against your will, you're not going to sit there and accept it, are you? You'll challenge it so you can get what you want, it's human nature. Footballers are humans, not slaves to clubs. People seem to forget that.

I know but the power you hold as a footballer and what clubs do for them don't you think a player should pay them the courtesy of leaving at the best possible time and leave on a good note? which everybody would appreciate.

He'd probably just settled in, It's still a new experience, He moved from Spain barley 12 months before, Liverpool were doing well just come of the back of a champions league final there's plenty of reasons. Don't you think when a club is having a hard time there top players should be the ones who stand up and help rather than desert the club they are playing for?

That's exactly what he fucking did! He elevated you from a poor 4th to a semi-serious title challenge and a 2nd place finish. He even stayed when you finished 7th.

No he didn't, He wasn't the only reason we got to 2nd, He got rested a lot, He was injured a lot. That team had been built over several years. He left because we went down to 7th and seeing that there was problems with Rafa and the owners.

He stayed for several months after Benitez left, and several months after John Henry's consortium took over.

He didn't hand in a transfer request, he didn't make any effort to leave.

What off coming off the back of a terrible world cup, Injured. Then having to wait for the next transfer window to get a move which he did.

You're right, it must have been his dominant form from August to the end of January that got him his move.

Or you can't move outside of a transfer window.

Benitez left early in the summer. Hodgson was certainly in charge before the end of the window.
