I known it's a pig but it still looks like a rabbit.

Re: The Pokémon Thread
To be honest, all of the starters are pretty cute and cool early on.. but like the HGSS series.. all are easily replaceable almost instantly.
I miss the type combination starters..
grass/ground, grass/poison, water/steel [fucking epic], fire/fighting [a non fat pig one]
That was one concern I had with this generation.. they really limited the starters again.. could have really made this game epic.
But I also think they made the starters basic so we would be more inclined to try out the wild Pokemon.

Looks as much like a rabbit as a sirloin looks like a strand of hair.

Re: The Pokémon Thread
So I just went out and "bought" Pokemon Black [I have White]
returned CODMW2 or is it 3? and FIFA 12 [it sucks]
didn't have to pay a dime.. and have $15 store credit afterwards as well.
I just remembered that Pokemon always have 'Version Exclusives" and that I've always preferred the White exclusives..
Time to start it up.. now to think of a name for OT and a Starter.
Do you guys adjust your names and Pokemon names so they have nicknames? Or at least have it like "This" instead of "THIS". Or just leave default?

Default most of the time. Except for my Ginyu Force team.

Fan Art, but yes.
After much deliberation.. I decided to go with the water starter.

- other 2 starter line:
fast and good defenses.. but shit movepool. really shit.
slow, low defenses, fat pig. best moves are recoil based.

Cool fanart, but I refuse to believe anything after Diamond and Pearl exists.

Re: The Pokémon Thread
You can do that. Since every Pokemon in Black/White is not found in any other Pokemon game.
Damn.. now I'm unsure.. Snivy is looking pretty sexy. Otter power.

Yeah, I've only played 3 matches and I'm already frustrated at people abusing certain moves and items.
Not fun at all.

Re: The Pokémon Thread
Yah it is all strategy. You have to have a team that counters everything, not a team of the strongest pokemon who you like. You need physical and special sweepers, physical and special tanks, an abusing annoying pokemon that puts stealth rock on and shit, and another pokemon that counters remaining weaknesses. You also have moves on other pokemon that counters certain common pokemon like Ice Beam for Garchomp, Dragonite or Salamence, substitute/focus punch for Blissey etc.

Re: The Pokémon Thread
I've stayed away from competitive Pokemon, mainly because of the repetitive feel of it nowadays. All about Rain or Sand, and the same 20 Pokemon.
I remember back when Diamond and Pearl first came out.. I was on their "ladder" [rankings] and was 115th out of the entire POKEMON UNIVERSEEEEEEEEEEEE

Played Pokemon White all night last night and it's quality tbh. I love the storyline and the region but the pokemon are a problem for me. They just look silly compaired to Red/Gold

Re: The Pokémon Thread
For me the best Pokemon were in Gen 3, followed by 5 then 4 then 2 and finally 1.
The pokemon in Gen 1 were so boring apart from the charmander family
