Gen 1 and 2 were the best, imo.

I restarted my firered file. I now have an Ivysaur, Pidgeotto and a Pikachu. I'm at that boat in Vermilion City. Planning to get atleast a Growlithe, perhaps a Psyduck and a Rhyhorn. That'd end up with me having a Venusaur, Pidgeot, Raichu, Arcanine, Golduck and Rhydon. Reckon that'd be a fun team to finish the league with.

Not sure what to do with the Eevee I'm going to get. I like Raichu, so no Jolteon, although it's good, Vaporeon is ace, but not really cool and Flareon looks awesome, but sucks.

Might just go with Flareon and see if I can get any good out of it. Should be okay with Flamethrower, Return, Bite and Quick Attack or something like that.

You need physical and special sweepers, physical and special tanks, an abusing annoying pokemon that puts stealth rock on and shit, and another pokemon that counters remaining weaknesses. You also have moves on other pokemon that counters certain common pokemon like Ice Beam for Garchomp, Dragonite or Salamence, substitute/focus punch for Blissey etc.
That's pretty gay, I just want to have fun.

My team was Dragonite, Blaziken, Absol, Milotic, Scizor and Eelektross.

    Not fun at all.

    Like what moves/items?
Sandstorm and substitute (combined leftovers) were the main ones I ran into.

Fuck that. Flygon is still better.

    Nooo Gen 1 was amazing!!

    I say it goes:

    Gen 3 --> Gen 1 --> Gen 4 --> Gen 2

@ Marvin, that is an awesome team. Would totally have that in an actual game, just not Pokemon Online.

    You'll never find one.

And I feel like every story line.. I end up with the same types.. water/grass/fire/electric.

Going to try and stay away from that.

btw.. that firered team above is pretty balanced, looks cool.

I agree with Marvin, use Pokemon you love.

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites."

Oh of course. Scyther was my ultimate back in Pokemon Red/Blue.

So I finally got the starter i wanted last night, Oshawott. Restarted the game about 20 times until I got the nature I preferred.

    Lonely and good perseverance.

Female also.. time to think of a nickname.

I don't particularly see why pokemon can't learn moves they are supereffective against.

Though Rhydon with Surf does defy logic. confused

Anyway, yes Marvin, I play the games with the pokemon I love. I have used Absol in every single game since my Pokemon Ruby on my gameboy.
