Espanyol v Mirandés

What will the 3rd division team be able to pull off here? They did not actually qualify to play in the Copa del Rey last year. Could Espanyol win to possibly set up a derby final with Barcelona?

Athletic Bilbao v Mallorca

Will having the 2nd leg at home in the Balearic Islands play a factor in the final result of this tie?

Valencia v Levante

Local derby, Levante was actually formed before Valencia FC which serems interesting since Valencia tends to have more success.

Mirandes score in the 90th minute to win 2-1 against Espanyol and advance to the next round.

Third-tier minnows Mirandes produced one of the most memorable shocks in the history of the Copa del Rey as they beat Espanyol to a semi-final berth.

Trailing 3-2 from the first leg, Carlos Pouso's side's heroic run in the competition seemed to be at an end when Rui Fonte put Espanyol ahead two minutes after the break.

Pablo Infante made it 1-1 on the night 11 minutes later, but the second goal that Mirandes needed to go through on the away goals rule seemed to be eluding them.

It did arrive, though, with Cesar Caneda scoring in the final minute to send the Primera Division side packing.

Mirandés are through to the semifinals!

FT 1-1. I'm okay with this result, Valencia are a tough opposition - especially at the Mestalla so a draw isn't that bad but the performance from us wasn't the best, certainly hoping for better in the 2nd leg
