Yeah, that is a Super Cup, not an important trophy worthy of mention. And another thing, shit for brains, if he had won the UEFA Champions League, that would be covered by 'European Champion'.
I believe the last time he was Goalkeeper in a World Championship Final he failed to keep a clean sheet against pretty poor opposition.Scott wrote:If Pepe Reina was Spain's GK, they still would have won the World Cup. So it's sort of redundant.

That's not Spain is it? Dumb fuck.
It seems that the point I was trying to make alluded you.
Basically, it doesn't matter what GK Spain played, they still would have won. Can say the same for Barcelona and their trophy wins. If they had Gomez in goal, they'd still be winning nearly everything.

You can't really claim that, Scott. It's not as if Casillas stood on his goal line doing nothing the entire tournament, he pulled off quite a few vital saves that Reina might not have been able to do.
I still think they would've won it, regardless of what goalkeeper they played.

Exactly.

Reina hasn't exactly been in his best form this season imo

Reina also told Casillas which way to dive for a penalty vs Paraguay which was an extremely vital save.

I agree Scott that Spain probably would have won those trophies with Reina, but you cant just assume that and degrade what Casillas has done for Spain

Kinda clutching on to straws in any relevance that Reina had in helping Spain winning the World Cup, but fair enough.

I never said it was Spain, did I? I was referring to the only World Championship match he has ever kept goal in.
And as for 'Dumb fuck', it is 'eluded', as it 'The point I was failing to make eluded you', alluded means something different.
As for that last comment, you have no way of proving that. I think there is a good reason that Barca got rid of Reina.

This is true but playing behind that defence must be bad for confidence.Aj11 wrote:Reina hasn't exactly been in his best form this season imo

Reina plays a massive part in the team spirit and behind the scenes. Biggest personality in the dressing room apparently.
It showed it when he did that celebration thingy afterwards. The thing where they put the Barca shirt on Fabregas.

My friend, he has to do something. He did nothing the whole tournament and therefore he was named as the teams servant and speaks on their behalf.

Again, clutching on to straws. You're starting to sound like Liam.
My friend, Pepe Reina plays a vital role behind the scenes on the trainning field in Spain's sucess. He is a full of team spirit and is a lovable charcter off the pitch. Factual evidence of him putting a Barca shirt on Cesc Fabregas suggests even the mere presences of him give the team a massive moral boost.

What I'm saying is true. In no way, shape or form have i said Reina helped Spain win the World Cup.

You mean a bit like Mr Berbatov who plays for Manchester United, he has done basically nothing this season except in the League cup so maybe Mr Berbatov is the Reina of Manchester United.

Berbatov has played a big role in virtually every competition that United have won since he arrived, 2 Premier Leagues, a League Cup, granted he sat on the bench for the World Championship Final, but it's not as bad as Reina. Berbatov was actually an important player for his country rather than a bench warmer.

It's fuck all to do with Freud, and you say that if Reina could have been on the pitch, Spain would still have won, and maybe that's true. What's also true is that if my Granddad had replaced Pepe Reina in the Spain squad, then Spain would have still won, and he's been dead 10 years. That's how much of a role Pepe Reina played, he deserves that medal he's got as much as my dead granddad.

My friend, did you not pick up on the fantastic display of Dimitar Berbatov yesterday? He was terrific. Scoring a goal, assisting Owen, winning 2 penaltys but for the anti-Berbatov referee , Won every defensive header he had to make. Running from defence to attack, showing sublime skill nutmegging the opposition. It was a sight to behold. the only time United looked threatening was when Berbatov was involved. To compare a fantastic match winning and game dictating footballer such as Berbatov to Reina is absurd and completely unjust
