1045: FOOTBALL - Manchester United deny claims Javier Hernandez has signed a new five-year contract. The Mexican striker's agent has been quoted as saying the deal was done. But United say that is incorrect and no new deal is imminent.

Here are the main points from Sir Alex's press conference:

    * Everybody returned from the international break fit. The only question mark ahead of the Liverpool game is Nemanja Vidic, who played for Serbia in midweek. "He was out for a month but came back yesterday and felt okay."

    * Everybody else is fit, apart from Tom Cleverley and Rafael (who began training this week).

    * Sir Alex says tomorrow's game is "massive" and says "all the players are looking forward to it". "For me, the Liverpool game is still the biggest fixture on the calendar."

    * On Liverpool's title chances: "Four or five teams will challenge for the title and you always have to include Liverpool in that."

    Would play this:

    Welbeck

    Young ------ Rooney ------ Nani

    Anderson - Carrick

    Evra -- Jones -- Ferdinand -- Smalling

    De Gea

    I don't think I'd play Vidic.

Fergie asks United fans not to sing Hillsborough songs at Anfield

Sir Alex Ferguson has called for Manchester United fans to respect Liverpool and cease singing about the Hillsborough disaster.

Ferguson takes his team to Anfield tomorrow and has requested United fans stop chants about the 1989 FA Cup semi-final at Hillsborough at which 96 Liverpool supporters died.

Fergie: I'll let Vidic decide if he's ready to face Liverpool

"I always consider this to be the game of the season in English football," Ferguson said.

"We need each other. Respect should be adhered to. Shouts of Hillsborough don't do either club any good."

His comments come after last month's Carling Cup match between Leeds and Manchester United at Elland Road.

The game was marred by chants about the 1958 Munich air disaster, in which 11 United players and staff were killed, and Leeds' game at Galatasaray in 2000 when two of the Yorkshire club's supporters were stabbed to death.
