Wasn't he owned by the Smithsonian at one point? I feel like the missing link should be in a museum at all times.

Kia Joorabchian had something to do with it.

It's pretty fuckin wierd that some private fund that isn't a football team can own players. Sounds like the West African Slave Company or something. What'd they do? Bring Tevez in on a ship, let Fergie smack his buttcheeks a couple times and then wheel and deal him?

Football is weird tbh. in the space of months, Rooney has gone from one of the best strikers on top of his game, loving Manchester United saying things like:
It would take a major U-turn by Rooney to go back on what he said only nine months ago, when he stated: “This is my club and I’m very happy here. My family live 30 minutes away and I’m perfectly happy.
“There’s no reason to play my football anywhere else. Manchester United are the biggest club in the world.”
To being a guy that's unhappy, not playing well, and wanting to jump ship.

Tevez left because Berbatov joinedmenalawyerguy wrote:Was it Berbatov?
Refresh my memory, which happened first: Berbatov joined or Tevez left?

My dad's going mad over the possibility of Rooney joining Tevez at City.

I think Rooney has picked up on the fact that Man City are the future big boys of Manchester. Actually, they already are .. just look at them.

Because Mancini paid the refs.

I'm looking at them right now.
I see a team that has spent buttloads of dough, has no trophies yet to show for it and in spite of their cross-town rival's chronic inability to close out games, has only a three point lead and the same goal differential.
So in my view, that doesn't undo decades of domination by Man Utd. They're still the big boys in Manchester for the time being.

Spot on. I still think Utd will finish above City this seasonmenalawyerguy wrote:Mr. Ree wrote:I think Rooney has picked up on the fact that Man City are the future big boys of Manchester. Actually, they already are .. just look at them.

I wish I felt the same, do you think you'll finish above Liverpool?

You actually think that Rooney would play for Manchester City?
If he leaves United I can't see him going anywhere else in the UK. The obvious destination would be Spain with Real Madrid or Italy with Inter Milan.

I would hope, that when he leaves, he doesn't go to City and shows our supporters the same respect we've shown him over the years, even when he plays bad we sing his name, even if he's not playing at all.

I see no possibility of him ever going to another club in the EPL. I think Real Madrid or Inter Milan are his possible destinations IF he does leave Manchester United.

This would be a perfect time to see about getting Karim Benzema from Real Madrid in exchange for Rooney or maybe Benzema and another player.
You guys also better hope that Berbaterrible doesn't lose form or else you will struggle big time to score goals.

From me, nothing official has even been said, and to me Rooney is no longer a United player, because if I hold onto hope, then he leaves, I'll cut my anus off.
And, Benzema is good, and has a lot of potential, I liked him a lot at Lyon, but the fact he chose Madrid over us makes me not like him so much, and if he got good with us he'd just go to Spain again.

How do you cut an anus "off"? Seems like you'd have to cut it "out" more than "off."
Either way, sounds fuckin painful

Fair enough. Guess you wouldn't need it anymore if Rooney isn't arround to score goals thereby inspiring Fergiesrednose to lick your anus in celebration.

Manchester United haven't played the likes of Blackpool or Chelsea though. Man City beat them both.

I don't think its so much that he chose Real Madrid over Manchester United so much as Real Madrid just paid Lyon more money that United initially threw at Lyon when it was announced he would be leaving. It's Uniteds own fault for waiting until the last moment to try and get him and by that time he was already on his way to Spain.
As for cutting your anus off, ouch.

It doesn't matter what you expect, at all, until it happens what you expect equals nothing.

Doubt Barca would want him him either. So that rules out La Liga. which leaves our league as the only realistic option, unless Rooney wanted to play in the Seri A or the Bundesliga.

Chelsea or City then, either way we get fucked.

Why does that rule out La Liga? In fact, I seem to recall a certain Spanish team lost two David's this summer and might be keen on bringing in some new attacking talent.

why would he play in another club in england? he still would get major stick at any other english club. Italy have a rule of 1 foreigner per Season and that means there is only the bundesliga left. And the only "realistic" move would be bayern..And they don't need him because they have too many strikers (Olic Muller Klose Gomez)Scouser_Dave wrote:Kuled wrote:http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11667_6452141,00.html The realistic move where he would go to;Real Madrid..Do not want him.
