Anyone else think they have been ripped off?

10m for Crouch, 8m for Palacios and 4.5m for Cameron Jerome. eek
All atleast worth 2-3m less imo.

I'm not looking forward to Stoke away next week. I hate them, but they've improved.

Should I put in a small bet for Stoke winning the Europa League? You probably could get some nice odds here and they have really improved over this transfer deadline.

Also a sick combo bet would be Birmingham City winning the Europa League AND being relegated to League One. Thankfully gambling on European football is not the easiest thing to do in the states since we have so much other sports going on here. Laughing

I love Stoke. They're a fantastic working class club that all clubs achieving promotion to the Premier League should aspire to. In each of their 3 seasons they've managed to survive comfortably. They've reached an FA Cup final. They're now playing European Football. Made some decent signings. It just shows that with a bit of hard work and some financial backing from the board, teams can quite comfortably cope with the PL after promotion. I just hope Forest can be similar whenever we decide to go up.

Agree with everything you said. Stoke created an identity for themselves. Fuck even on this forum everyone always says "can they do it on a rainy tuesday night at Stoke?" because Stoke have an identity, they aren't a team anyone likes to play.

Cameron Jerome was a rip off, Palacios is a good deal for £8m...he's worth around that considering his experience and capabilities. Didn't fit in at Spurs...but the same could be said of Zokora who also went for the same amount to Sevilla. IMO Palacios is better.

Crouch...approaching 31 but for a player like him, he can go on until he's 33 or so easily. You know what you get with Crouch...and for Stoke that is a dream come true considering how they play. He is a top class player...I'm quite surprised Spurs sold him.

Probably paid a bit too much but Crouch and Palacios are very good signings for Stoke, Jerome is a terrible player but can only see how he does for them.

I think Jerome is quite a good signing if i'm honest.

Look at what Pulis did with Walters, with any other team he wouldn't have cut it but he is used as the workhorse in the team. That is exactly what Jerome will be used for, he'll have less pressure on him to score goals but will probably chip in with more due to less pressure on him. Crouch/Jones will be the 2 expected to get the goals.

Jerome is not like Walters though Neutral

He is one of those strikers who hangs around up front, does very little..but hopes to get put through on a break. He's big but...hardly beastly strong, he's not technically gifted..I don't see him doing well at all.

Sure, but I'd say Walters has more work rate in him, is stronger, and has more technical ability about him.

Maybe, though I'm basing my opinion more off his time in the Championship.

His goalscoring record is hardly amazing, and for a player like him...where goal scoring is his main asset (rather than his gameplay)...it's not that great.
