Off-campus is going to be shit.

You'll meet people on your course. Obviously it's easier for those who live at Uni but it's not as if you're going to make no friends unless you're a dubstep loving prick.

Jamie, first year courses have around 200-700 people in each class.

That's probably the biggest advantage of living with other people. I met all the people I know through living with them, the only people I know on my course are the ones I've met through living with them.

How many people are in your classes generally? I think the whole year is in the lectures, but I don't know how the tutorial works, maybe its like you said.

I made absolutely none. I knew like 2 girls through living with one of them and if they didn't turn up I just tried to avoid human contact at all costs. Pretty anti-social.

How many people are in your classes generally? I think the whole year is in the lectures, but I don't know how the tutorial works, maybe its like you said.

Have like 8 hour long lectures with about 120 people in them(if everyone turns up) and 3 hour long tutorials with 15-30 in them.

Lectures aren't compulsory so not everyone turns up though, it's easy enough to meet people first year. Just make the effort at the start because people(on my course anyway) got into cliques really quickly.
