I didn't think they were that good. I watched it in a pub so didn't give 100% attention, but they looked absolutely harmless in the first half, couldn't see them scoring at all.

Anyway, I might be going to see City Spurs at White Hart Lane, so that could be interesting. What a Face
I was thinking more defensively and in possession, they kept the ball pretty well and were defending pretty well, once we got the breakthrough it opened up for us to score more.

We may have not looked like scoring, but we kept United out very well in the first half, it was only when we tired and they stepped it up in the second half where we lost the game.

I think it opened up as we were looking for the equalizer, and should've scored when Lennon was in the box and should've played in VDV. Poor decision making last night was our downfall. And I can't fault Friedel for anything last night, yes he conceded 3 but IMO he couldn't do anything to stop any of them. Good signing despite being 40 and as mobile as ever in goal. Striker is definitely needed (Adebayor better sign soon, whether loan or permanent we need fresh legs up top) and VDV needs to be less selfish and stop going for goal himself when others are in better positions.

You definitely can't complain about Friedel as you said, the score could have been worse.

Had Gomes been in goal it probably would've been more. I hope Brad starts as many as possible in the league what with his incredible record of not missing a league for 7 years or something, truly incredible and he is still as good as ever. Smile

I was thinking about some other games at Old Trafford where we've played Tottenham with no controversy. I remembered that League Cup game a couple of years ago. Tottenham treated it like the biggest game of their season, their only realistic chance of winning a trophy, while United fielded a second string side including Obertan, de Laet, Kuszczak and Gibson.

Predictably, United strolled to a 2-0 victory over a Spurs side who were treating the game with extreme seriousness, not because of the referee, but because we are better than Tottenham.

That match killed his United career. Two of his potshots flew in, so he got this idea in his head that he was a God of shooting, and from that day forward he shot every time he got the ball within 40 yards of the opposition goal.

You really take one thing to heart don't you? It was only a laugh, no need to go do some research and come back with stuff.
