If you get a striker in (Adebayor I reckon) I think you'll do well this year. Not superb mind you, but well. There was something lacking in the final third.

United deserved the win, but I don't think Friedel deserved to concede 3. He looks as good as ever at the ripe old age of 40. Astute signing. We probably should have scored a few and would've done if we weren't so shit with our passing in the final third and decision making was very poor tonight compared to last week, don't care that it was Hearts because the right decision from Lennon and no doubt VDV would've scored. VDV looked good but way too selfish tonight, understood they wanted to test De Gea but just put the ball in the box with crosses, we saw De Gea fumble at a cross and that should've said something to Spurs' players, put the ball there again and again. That fumble made me wonder what if Crouch was fit and playing with his height against De Gea?
Credit to Welbeck, Cleverley, Jones, Young who did brilliantly and Rooney looked great and sharp as well. I think with them England's future may actually be looking bright for once.
I also forgot our run of league games consisted of United away, City, Liverpool and Arsenal all at home. We really needed that Everton game on the opening weekend to have given us 3 points going into them. Hearts next on Thursday isn't needed either, but with the 5 goal deficit going into the game we can rest players and keep them fresh for Sunday.
To conclude I did see positives tonight for us, and I feel we can really fight for 4th even with the squad as is, remember the midfielders that are out injured! Add Adebayor and Diarra (hopefully signing sooner rather than later) and I think this can be a great season in the end.
i thought you yids played really well especially in the first half. your passing was crisp and inventive. your boys have always had a place in my heart and I really hope you get that 4th spot at the end of the season
So do I, and what would be sweeter would be getting it ahead of Arsenal. And I think this year is as a good a chance of any to finish above them. We just need a couple of signings, Modric to hopefully stay and once September 2nd comes around puts his head down and plays like we know he can, and we'll be fine.
Best of all, it was a United vs Spurs game with no real big decision in it! Unless I missed it?

If we were as sharp as we were against Hearts in the final third then it would've perhaps been a different result, especially first half. Can I say now that Kaboul is going to have a big year this year, he was superb tonight I thought.

Superb, thought Tottenham played really well and the 3-0 was harsh on their performance but thought we were great, deserved the three points and some nice goals, fantastic win.

I do feel he has a bright future ahead, hope he continues to improve and do well. Starting at Old Trafford was great for him at his age, and he hardly put a foot wrong, ok he didn't do anything spectacular but he didn't need to. As you said, he just got on with it.

Looks like that did happen, we beat the piss out of you in a fair game with great football and no shocking decisions made by the ref. Shows what you know, eh? You fucking spastic. I was right, you were wrong. Don't ever make stupid predictions about the fairness of a game again.

Wow one prediction wrong about the fairness of decisions and I'm a spastic? I did say United would win, so I got that right after all. Ref had a good game tonight, fair play to him.

You said you knew it wouldn't be a fair game - you couldn't have known this before the game, and since it didn't happen, that's proven it beyond doubt, that's why you're a spastic. Don't question the integrity or fairness of referees, they do an extremely difficult job, a job you couldn't do, and do it to a very high standard. It's difficult enough without arseholes claiming that they are going to favour particular sides before the game even starts.

I am a realist, a loss to Man U @ Old Trafford isn't terrible. They are obviously on a different level from us. We must move on to Man City next weekend.

So the one time I say it, and all as a joke before the game I get called an asshole? Yeah you spelt it wrong by the way. Perhaps I should've added in my sentence to show I was being sarcastic and joking.

I didn't spell it wrong at all, if you're going to be a pedantic twat, get it right. Don't come out now with all the stupid 'It was just a joke' shit, you obviously thought that the referees were going to work against Tottenham to help Man Utd win because of what happened in previous years with unusual decisions. If you were really being sarcastic you would have said that in your first answer rather than you saying you got your prediction wrong.

The first one is true and the second one is a pertinent question. I didn't think they were that good. I watched it in a pub so didn't give 100% attention, but they looked absolutely harmless in the first half, couldn't see them scoring at all.
Anyway, I might be going to see City Spurs at White Hart Lane, so that could be interesting.

I was thinking more defensively and in possession, they kept the ball pretty well and were defending pretty well, once we got the breakthrough it opened up for us to score more.Zzonked wrote:kyro7 wrote:Superb, thought Tottenham played really well and the 3-0 was harsh on their performance but thought we were great, deserved the three points and some nice goals, fantastic win.
