If there is a lot of interest in the thread then you can keep it going, but I expect it will have fizzled out by tomorrow night. As long as number 9 doesn't win.

Yeah, if No. 9 is in the lead the poll should be carried on indefinitely. If a piece of shit like that wins all it will do is discourage further serious entries - I for one will not be writing another article if it wins the competition.

I personally believe that Number 9 is a very insightful article into the thoughts of a loyal local fan. I get the sense that it is written through the thoughts of many others standing at their teams ground on a Saturday afternoon. The writing techniques outshine all other articles, with excellent use of personal pronouns to engage the readers and make them feel part of the piece with the direct addressing. It uses rhetorical questions most magnificently, and it's use of expletive language fits into the genre spiffingly. It is exactly the sort of language you would hear at a football stadium. The persuasive techniques used are 'top notch', and I for one was mesmorised by it. I voted for Number 8.

I understand that, I'm just not interested in entering the competition if I'm going to put time and effort into writing a serious article and then James is going to write some bullshit about how you should eat and drink disgusting foodstuffs while watching inferior football. Don't take it as a slight on you or your competition, it's not, you can't control what people vote for.

I think it'd be best just having 1 set topic each week, but make it varied and not just PL Top 4 shit. That way, everyone has to write about the same thing and it will be easier to judge the quality of each article.

The format is fine as it is, it just depends how seriously people take it.

People must think Number 9 has some quality in it, seeing as it is currently in 2nd place. I can definitely see it's quality.

I have to agree with RR that number 9 is awful. Mine isn't exactly top notch, but I at least put some thought into it and tried it make it interesting. I know there is no set length, but how can 9 even qualify as an article? It is also very cliched and has been mentioned many times in the past.

Jela, I'd like you to copy and paste article Number 6 into Google, as I believe it is a copied article. For one, who would put the time and date at the bottom on a little forum competition. And two, the very last paragraph of Article 6, starts off as 'In the editors opinion'.

May I ask whom the editor actually is?
