That doesn't make it right though. The club (who aren't doing brilliant financially) have to pay for a plane from Sheffield to London (probably) and still take a coach from London to Bournemouth. It is stupid and if it was someones club on here they'd be complaining about it too.

Its just amazing how they are making a league 1 club play twice in 3 days when Fergie complains about a Wednesday-Saturday game and either gets the game moved to a later time or moved to a Sunday. Laughing

When's Fergie complained about playing a CL game (or CC) on a Wednesday and a league game on a Saturday? Neutral

But yeah, he owns the FA of course. So he gets his own way. What a Face study

Fergie always fucking moans. He complained that United were away from home in the Premier League fixture after a Champions League away game.

All I can think of is the second leg vs Porto in 2009. We had a league match scheduled for Sunday, and the second leg of the CL was on a Tuesday. So the League game was pushed back to Saturday.

    Which is understandable. Neutral

He once complained about playing on a Saturday lunch time kick off.

Both team should have had at least an extra day until their next game. But nothing surprises me in British football, look at the things that used to happen, this is only one example, when Arsenal and Liverpool once met in the FA Cup semi final 4 times and played Extra time. Arsenal played on a Saturday in the league and on a monday before playing Juventus in the Cup winners cup on the Wednesday, Juventus actually played on the weekend and watched Arsenal's monday game before playing them.Is it fair? - Page 2 1227708691

It's maybe not particularly fair, but it's not disastrous. Both teams have a day to recover and should be okay for their respective matches at the weekend.

Which is basically proves my point. So the game moved so they played 2 in 4 rather than 2 in 3.

Thanks for proving my point Danny without me even needing to check up. Laughing

That's understandable though. You shouldn't play twice in 3 days. Neutral

EDIT: It was the first leg against Porto, not the second. What a Face

    No, that's bullshit.

He wants to progress in the Cup and win the league game. He's got a days rest for his players before they play another match. That's bang out of order from whoever scheduled the fixtures.

Sorry there was me thinking he had more than 11 players.

    I said it was unfair.

In this case he has to prioritise. If it fair or not doesn't matter...

Woah, he has more than 11 players. And the players beyond the first 11 are of the same quality then?

1 days rest means some will have to be rested. It puts Blackpool at an instant disadvantage.

He can rest players in the cup and in the league.

Sheffield Wednesday are hardly of the same quality as Blackpool either.

Blackpool got charged for resting players last season though...

The FA changed the rules on that over the summer...

Got to feel for the owls, 2 matches in 3 days and an epic coach drive to Bournemouth. Will be amazing if they can win!

Tottenham played abroad in Europe one year on a Thursday then lunchtime kick-off on Saturday, we were annoyed but got on with it and lost to Chelsea.
